Concept sketches for Land of Lorfe
Hello, In reading your detailed description of what you are looking for, I thought it would be better to first provide you with sketches before going into full-on illustrating. Sometimes only written explanations can lead to misunderstandings when it comes to creating images, but like this you can have a rough vision of the direction I'd go in and any changes and further inputs can easily be made. Here are some ideas for the design of the coat of arms and the hare, sketched in pencil in preparation for inking. I'd create layered artworks so single elements could easily be removed and reused in different forms (as in the clothing tags, stamps...). I'd ink traditionally to match the images you posted on your pinterest, but colour could be added digitally or analogue. I've actually finished the homepage illustration as well as the coat of arms some days ago, just need to find the time to add colour and upload!
As to the script, I can't create a font - an entire font is work enough for a week or more, especially a decorative one. I created a Land of Lorfe Script inspired by simple medieval alphabets (to be easily readable even in small print) as well as cursive point letters. I'm sure I'll find the time to upload tomorrow.
I'm sorry that this is kind of hurried. I have other clients as well, so as this is a contest, I went with the information from last week when working on the illustrations. Maybe changes can be made afterwards?- cách đây 8 năm

I'll send you some sketches for the second image before going into details there. I first wanted to clear up some of my questions and wanted to know if you liked the general direction. Do you have concrete preferences for the human characters? Do they, for example, have characteristics you'd like to have represented (is the king enthusiastic? The knight very young and wild? I'm open to any suggestions that would help to fit your idea!)

So just to recap that I've understood you correctly:
The hare would still be placed inside the coat of arms, but with a background of a map (that you linked to me) and smaller, so that said map is easy to see? And I'd change the pose of the hare as you said.
The building, too, I wasn't so sure about that one in any case :)
What I meant with layered images: In Photoshop I can put single elements on different 'layers', for example the script on top. If that one were on a separate layer, one would be able to move it around, make it smaller or bigger or remove it entirely without affecting the rest of the image. Like this, one can man variations of the same image for different purposes - for example only the hare in its coat of arms for a smaller logo. I hope that explains it!- cách đây 8 năm

what i haven't seen you do yet is the illustration i will need for the front page of the website. this will need to be simple and sleek as i mention in the brief but also encapsulate the idea of the 'family' going off on adventures. do you have ideas you can share with me that i can give you feedback on?

Because I think it might be hard to depict the urban nature of the brand through a building i think its best i drop that and have amended the contest accordingly. now id like to see that geometric mountain in the back and the hare in the foreground more like the second image you have but of it looking proud rather than wistful. id also like to see a map incorporated. the hare is going to need to be smaller and not talk over the whole of the room for the logo. i'll send through some map images i like too
