I did a contest for this last year. Attached is one of the winning entries to give an example of what I liked. Please do not copy this as I want something new.

You are making a TEMPLATE. You will not be asked to populate it, only give an InDesign template.

Included Files:
FINAL SWATCHES: This is the color scheme needed - these colors plus black and white (you may use other complementary colors, but it must stay within this scheme.

Other Annual Report 1-4: These are examples of annual reports to get ideas. Please do not copy them, these are for examples only.

Requirements:
1) Indesign only
2) CMYK colors
3) 6 different sections that should have it's own "theme": Letter from the President, Executive Bios, Balance Sheet/Income Statement, Accomplishments, Services, Graphs
4) Placeholders within each section for pictures, both landscape and portrait
5) Page numbers
6) Colors must be inserted into the InDesign file in CMYK
7) 2-4 fonts to be used - one for the section heads, one or two for text - these font files MUST be included in the final package
8) Layout: First page needs to be 8.5"x11" first page (right side) and then 8.5"x11" facing spreads.
Bleed - .125 all
Sections:
Letter from the President: The 8.5"x11" first page (page 1) - right side and then the following left page.
Executive Bios: Right side 8.5"x11" - enough for 6 pictures and bios
Balance Sheet/Income Statement, Accomplishments, Services, Graphs - one full 8.5"x 11"

If you have any questions, please ask them in the overall contest area. I will reply to each entry in the entry's comment area - so if you delete that entry, you will also be deleting my feedback.

I often pick more than one winner - so you have multiple ideas I might pick more than one of yours. I will be giving feedback during this process. I am on GMT-6, so please take that into consideration if you haven't received feedback immediately. I will likely hire one of the winning designers again to help with content population. If you can view my feedback, you can see what I did last year with the entries.

Hi again! I just uploaded two submissions: the first contains images of how the design looks on InDesign and the second submission contains images of the spreads in a mockup. Please let me know any feedback you have, I did my best to implement the changes you requested :)

Hi there - can you confirm the dimensions in mm (my calculation based on the inches version you give is 215.9mm x 279.4mm) is this correct? Also just to clarify that this is not the same dimension as last year? Many thanks. Michael

Hi! I was wondering if you can guarantee that you will keep this contest open until the posted end date? I am currently designing two non-profit annual reports on InDesign and I have a good understanding of how to present all of this kind of content in a compelling way. I would love to participate in this contest, but I can't afford to allocate the time if it may close before I have a chance to submit, so hopefully you can keep it open! :) Thanks! Michelle

  Hello, yes, I keep it open the full time in case I want to pick more entries. I chose three I think the last time I had this type of contest opened. And sorry, I wasn't clear on that - each one of them are full facing spreads of 8.5" x 11", not single pages.
