Tóm tắt cuộc thi
Projection Deadline UPDATE: We will be extending the deadline to April 5th by request of several Freelancers!
For this contest we are looking for a music producer in any genre who can increase the Crowd Review score of one or more of our client's artist's 10 songs to a minimum of 7.5 (out of 10) AudioKite Research Crowd Review score or higher by re-producing one of their existing songs. All of their songs are currently rated between 5.6 - 7.1 and vary across genres between Rock, Blues, Jazz, Alternative, Reggae, Ska Punk, and Hiphop, so changing genre's is an option. You can either pick 1 of the 12 songs or multiple to work on. The artist's name is "Obscurley."
We will pay $1,000 to a musical producer who is able to achieve this goal and our client has agreed to pay 5% of the mechanical royalties in the distribution of the song on top of that.
You can hear their songs at the following link:
We will provide both the raw and edited stem tracks (individual audio tracks) for the song you choose to work on in 32-bit WAV format. In this, you have the option of editing one of the existing songs or creating a whole new song (full production) using the same vocals.
Example: You select song #1 to redo. The song is currently in the Blues / Funk genre. You decide to change the genre of the song to Indie Alternative and re-record all the instruments. If the new song receives a Crowd Review score of 7.5 or higher you will win the contest and get paid $1,000 plus 5%. Simply re-mixing and mastering will likely NOT increase the score - this will require full production.
Note that there may be more than 1 winner of this contest, but the requirement is to have a Crowd Review score of at least 7.5 through Audio Kite Research. We will update the list below of claimed songs once a Freelancer provides a song through the process:
Songs that have already been claimed so far:
1. Land Piranha - 7.1 rating
2. Jacue - 7.0 rating
3. Pragmatic / Take it Easy - 7.0 rating
4. Bay Street - 7.0 rating
Q: Can we submit more than 1 version of a song?
A: We can submit up to 2 Crowd Reviews per entry only if the result of your entry scores above 6.5 (keep in mind that some songs are already higher than 6.5). For example, if you submit version A which scores a 7.0 you may then submit version B to see if it will score a 7.5+.
Q: How many changes can we make to a song? Can I record new parts? Add backing vocal melodies?
A: You can make ANY changes you would like as long as most of the original artist's vocals are used. The instruments do not matter and you can completely change the genre of a song.
Q: Do you give any feedback before posting it or do you post it straight ?
A: We will post it as is and then if the score is 6.5 or higher you can try for a second attempt to get the 7.5+
Q: It sounds like the singer is a bit out of tune and struggling to hit the notes. Is it possible to have him re-record the vocals?
A: Yes, our client is standing by to re-record any vocals you may need.
Q: I am a professional singer as well as a Producer. Am I able to record my own backing vocals to add?
A: Yes - you may add anything you like, as long as you keep most of the artist's original vocals.
Q: How should we submit the song?
A: We recommend uploading to Google Drive or uploading through Freelancer via chat.
Q: My second submission didn't score a 7.5, but I'm really pleased with the result and put a lot of work into it (a few days). Am I able to stream my version of the song?
A: You may do anything you like with your version. You may publish it as long as the artist's name is mentioned. And if you want to add a credit we can message you our client's company name, which is the Record Label.
Q: When will the winner be chosen?
A: There will be several winners chosen at any time. Anyone who scores a 7.5 or higher will be a winner and the last submission can be made by April 5th.
