Hey, are you a graphic designer looking for a fun project that could lead to future work with us? Enter our new logo design contest.

http://cakeswithattitude.net is going through a re-brand and we need an elegant new logo to represent the company.

Who they are:
-A cake & pastry shop - not a bakery
-high end custom cakes for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.
-Quality is #1 focus

Some specific wants (none of these are essential):
-Colors: Dark & light purples, silver,
-Focus on Cake
-Font on other materials uses Curlz sometimes

Please submit design with both a light and dark variant for printing on both black or white backgrounds.

We will choose a winner by weeks end and will work with you to make any final adjustments required.

Dear CH, i suggest that next time seal the contest, because some contestant here are just copying someone else concept, usually the leading entry. They will just wait for the top entry and just copy its concept and submit it as there own entry. Have some dignity entry #82 and #83 .

  While I share the thought regarding originality, I think going for something similar to a high rated entry is natural. In this particular contest the elements to use are not very open to variety, so many entries may look like "the same concept". In any case, I think your friend needs no defense for the designs submitted here. His/her entries are quite good, and I'm sure the CH has the right criteria to select the best design.   Hey wendaii - your design is ok. I think too many people are focusing on "cupcakes" though. While certaintly a good thought, we Don't want the company to look like Cupcakes is their main product. #10 was apparently copied but it gives a really nice clean look that would work in all colors. Your logo option could just be simplified or put on a "ribbon" like #5 . Just not as busy as that one.

Just for clarification to everyone - cakes and cupcakes are very different. While the shop does make cupcakes they do much more. A cupcake in the logo makes me think that is all they do so I would prefer either a cake as an image or a less prominent cupcake.
