Tóm tắt cuộc thi

Greetings, and thanks for checking out this contest.

We are looking for someone to design a logo for our Civil Air Patrol squadron. This logo will be used for patches, stationary/business cards, on our website, and anywhere else that our individual logo can be used to promote our identity. There are several things that you will need to keep in mind if you are interested in participating in this contest:

1 - You should familiarize yourself with the basic concept and goals of Civil Air Patrol’s mission. You can find more information about Civil Air Patrol at http://www.gocivilairpatrol.com.

2 - You must be familiar with the USAF Heraldry Guide, located at [login to view URL] Of particular importance will be Chapter 3 of this guide, which is referenced on the website. All squadron logos designed for use in Civil Air Patrol must follow these guidelines, and there should be a purpose/reason/explanation for all elements and colors used in the new logo.

3 - You should familiarize yourself with the logos that are already being used in the Delaware Wing of Civil Air Patrol. You can find these at [login to view URL] Please note that you will be designing a new logo for DE-001, which is the Wing Headquarters "Squadron." The logo that is currently shown is the state’s “wing patch” that all squadrons wear on their uniforms in addition to their individual squadron patch. Wing HQ does not have its own individual logo, and that is what you will be designing in this contest.

4 - If at all possible, the logo you design should have the Civil Air Patrol “tri-blade” logo incorporated into it, and the words "Civil Air Patrol". You can see this in nearly every patch/logo used by CAP wings and squadrons. You can find examples of other designs by going to [login to view URL] or by doing a web search for the various web pages maintained by individual wings and squadrons.

5 - We would prefer our logo to be in the “shield” shape as opposed to being round.

6 - The winning logo will also be converted to a patch which will be worn on our uniforms, so please keep that in mind when designing any small details that could be difficult to reproduce in the format of an embroidered patch.

Please note that while this contest will run for 30 days, a winner may not be selected until 20 SEP 15 at the very latest. This will allow us time to review the entries and select the one that best suits our image. However, a winner will be chosen.

Delaware has a long history of Civil Air Patrol participation, dating back to the very formation of the organization in 1941. Every member in our wing is a dedicated volunteer, receiving no pay for the time they devote to our core missions of aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services. Wing HQ functions as the administrators and managers of these missions throughout the state of Delaware, as well as providing resources and assistance for all Delaware Wing squadrons as they carry out their missions in their local communities. We are looking forward to seeing your designs, and choosing one that will be proudly displayed on our uniforms and used in our HQ for many years to come.
