Contest Brief

We are looking for logo for our DBA (doing business as) name of DMC (destination management company) travel agency - „Novalja vacations“. We have domain www.novaljavacations.com. We'd like to get textual logo – 2 variations:
1) Novalja Vacations in two rows
2) Novalja Vacations .com in three rows, where .com doesn't need to be same size or color as first two rows.

We'd like text to have highlighted border and eventually shadow. Font should be playful but easily readable. Colors are up to you. We are looking positive for gradient tools and other decorations, if they are done classy and without overdoing.

As DMC Travel agency, we offer accommodation and other services to people who come to Novalja. Website is intended for various groups of people, but mainly for partygoers coming to famous Zrce beach and families with children coming to peaceful vacations (of course not in same time on same place). Our main season is summer, and people are coming to island with a lot of beaches.

We'll check ideas at least twice a day and give feedback.

Text is bold, italic, with highlighted border.
We are not looking for copy of that idea, but path in what direction are we looking for.

I want to thank everyone for participation in contest. I apologize if I didn't answer directly to every message or question. I tried to actively show direction how do we think and what are we looking for. I can't say where did winner found inspiration for his first offer, but that one doesn't look very similar to #14 . After that he accepted my directions and he gave the best logo from my point of view. Mr. dorponDotNet also had opportunity to improve his logo to be closer to my idea, but he didn't do it. I accept his decision, but don't feel obligated to choose his logo if it isn't the best one. I wish you all best luck in future

#14 Excellent! The best idea by far for now. I suggest that you offer several similar solutions. Keep everything, but try several similar, but different fonts, both regular and bold.

#11 I like idea, but it needs some modifications. Vacations should be other font (or just bold). Maybe even more playing with color schemes.

#9, it's very simple and elegant, but it looks modern, and I like it. Please correct: put it into 3 rows, make it italic. If you wish to continue work out even more - suggestion is that you try to put border in some color.

8# This is „out of the box“ idea that positively surprised me. I like tile idea for Novalja, and I must express color of tile. It's different than all colors up to now, and it gives modern look to all. I don't like sun. I would like if you would continue with this idea and offer more variations. First suggestion: do something with „vacations“, it's too simple.

5# Similar idea as #2, #4 but I like it more, specially Novalja. I'd like that you continue working on it. Bold, italic with bold border. Maybe even new colors. Second idea is that you put Vacations as Novalja (font and color), then underline it and add com in font of Vacations now.

2# Don't like colors (too mainstream, very similar to other agencies (this kind of blue is good, rest not so good), gradient background, sun, first N is too much, vacations is not as Novalja. Most important – no border. I do like Novalja font.

Thank you for great number of solutions. I'll honestly say what I think about logos, please don't take it personal. Maybe your next idea will be perfect. Let me first comment in general all logos. Background of all logos will be transparent, so you shouldn't use gradient tools for background.
We are looking for textual logo. Illustration can be chosen only if it's amazing. Here are some ideas already used 30 years ago in Travel agencies, over simplified and without any modern reinterpretation.
Text should be in at least two lines, not only one.
We suggest that Novalja and vacations font is the same. „.com“ can be similar, but different (size, color, ...)
