Limited budget ($10) for a logo of my new mobile app "Pocket Ruler". It displays a ruler on screen (in inches or cm) so the mobile phone can be used as a measuring device. The initial target platform is android (but I don't want to emphasize that on the logo since logo should remain the same for other platforms). There are bunch of similar apps already on android platform so the logo must look different from them (check them out on google play).
I also don't want the app name on the icon since that can change later too.
The following must be provided:
High-res icon: 512x512 - 32-bit PNG (with alpha)
Feature Graphic: 1024 w x 500 h - JPG or 24-bit PNG (no alpha)
Promo Graphic: 180 w x 120 h - JPG or 24-bit PNG (no alpha)

I don't know what I like specifically but I'll know it when I see it. Good luck for all your creative ideas!

Some of you should really read your private message board since I have tried to give you feedback on what you have done so far. Let me try to summarize what it is I am looking for again here since the brief wasn't read properly by many, unfortunately. Forget about this is on android (I don't want the icon to be android specific). Forget about the app name ( if you have to use a name, use "Pocket Ruler" and NOT "Ruler". Because there are lot of apps already by the name ruler). I want the user to instantly make the connection to a ruler when they see the icon (specially when they see this app icon among other app icons). Don't use the yellow color that has been used for many ruler apps in google play (I want this to standout from the rest). I would like to thank you all for making the effort here. Good luck with you imaginations!
