Hi,

Names:
Specialized Transformer Technology
Specialized Power Technology

Background:
The business has two divisions with similar names, so the logo should be able to accomodate both names, or have no reference to the names.
The business is a specialist electrical engineering manufacturing concern with two types of products:
Specialized Transformer Technology: power transformers, rectifier transformers, furnace transformers, traction transformers in the 1 - 10MVA range.
Specialized Power Technology: series and shunt compensators for improving power quality, power factor and harmoinics for rectifier plants, mines, factories, furnaces and so on.
(Okay, I don't expect you to understand the above, but doing a google image search on these terms may provide inspiration.)
The business is professional, and run by professionals, but not in suits. They wear jeans, and expect to get their hands dirty when solving difficult problems.

Target Audience:
Electrical engineers, consulting engineers, mine owners, factory owners - this is very much a technical, business-oriented audience.

Intended Use:
On business cards, letterheads, promotional literature and website.

Idea seeds:
Maxwell's equations. The IEEE logo. Thomas Edison. Nikola Tesla. Spotify's new logo.

Avoid:
Anything too fussy, lots of fine lines.
Light bulbs...
Red - if the product is red hot, it is about to blow up - not good!
A picture of a transformer. (a re-imagined circuit symbol may work)

Hi All, some feedback and clarifications. 1. No PCB (printed circuit board) motifs. The products weigh 1000s of kilograms each, one can't pick them up by hand... Google "Power transformer" to get a better idea. 2. No Red.
