Design a product logo for our "Pizza" photo-editing software. This logo will be used as an app icon, website favicon, and website logo.

We have an app that is used for interactive photo editing (like Adobe Photoshop). Our app makes it quick & easy to do deep etching (also known as "clipping paths"). It is called "Pizza" because it is easy to cut the image into pieces, and pick out the piece that you want.

The logo colours will also be used as "brand" colours for the product & the website.

Logo style preferences:
- fun
- don't use too much gloss/highlight/shadow -- the logo should work well in flat colour
- don't include lots of detail -- the logo should also work as a 16x16 favicon
- minimalist & geometric
- if there's a pizza, it can be square or round
- not "sticky" or "gooey" like cheese on a pizza
- the pieces of pizza should have clean, sharp slices between them

Other logos that we like:
- Adobe
- Android
- Microsoft Windows
- Mitsubishi
- Target
- Ubuntu


== Contest submission specifications ==

Please display these items in your contest submission:
- the logo on a white background
- the logo on a dark grey background

Please design a logo that can be used on its own (without any text beside it), but please ALSO provide logo versions that include our current product name of "Pizza".

Please ensure that the logo looks good on a white background, and also on a dark grey background (like the Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom user interface colours). Please ensure that the colours you use are also print-safe.

If you use existing fonts for text, please only use freely-available fonts!

Please also provide a colour swatch of 8-12 "brand colours" for the Pizza product brand (including the colours used in the logo), including:
- a red colour
- a light blue colour
- a green colour
- a yellow or orange colour
- a light grey colour that will be used in the UI, and maybe also for text
- a dark grey colour that will be used in the UI
- a black or very dark grey colour that will be used for text & sharp borders


== Final submission specifications ==

Please provide these items in your final submission:
- the logo rendered on a white background
- the logo rendered on a dark grey background
- the logo rendered on a transparent background
- the logo as a 16x16 web-browser favicon (on a transparent background)
- the logo as a 32x32 web-browser favicon (on a transparent background)

Please provide the logo in the following formats: (where applicable)
- PNG
- JPG with 100% quality
- EPS or SVG
- PSD or AI

Please also provide logo versions that include our current product names of "Pizza", "PizzaPic" (without a space) and "Pizza Pic" (with a space). Please specify the font name of any typefaces that you use.

    Thank you for all your entries in the contest!

    It was very interesting to see such a wide range of design concepts. And it was great to see various entries & concepts evolve as I gave feedback and we experimented with new ideas together.

    I have to sleep now. (I've been up almost all night in these final hours of the contest.)

    Over the next few days, I will discuss the logos with my business partners to choose one.

      The only entries I "reject" are designs that:
      1. completely ignore the design description that I provided
      2. copyright infringe on an existing logo
      3. are logos for pizza restaurants, which is not what we are :)

      Some logos get 1-star ratings. These are generally logos that:
      - use an unattractive typeface (which I've already explained in a post on this board)
      - ignore my clarifications on this board about relevant/irrelevant elements in the logo
      - copy someone else's design and don't change anything, or
      - are just not beautiful to me

      I tried to provide individual feedback comments on every single design entry, but unfortunately time is running out, so I don't have time to do that any more. :(

    Please DON'T post comments on the Clarification Board to ask me to look at new designs. I check for new designs frequently. So there's no need to fill up the Clarification Board with those requests. :)

    Hi again everyone,

    Please DON'T spend your time to create lots of different renderings of the same logo (on a phone screen, on a laptop screen, on a business card, etc.).

    Please just create a version on a white background and a version on a grey background, and combine them into one contest entry.

    A rendering on a phone or a business card is not useful or relevant to me right now. I can already imagine it myself. And there are so many entries to review, I want to review each individual entry properly. Other renderings just take up reviewing time.

    So I would prefer that you DON'T submit lots of entries of the same logo.

    And it's also NOT worth your time to submit lots of entries of the same logo. (I will ignore all except the one on the white/grey background.)

    There's only 5 hours left in the contest, and there are still a lot of logos coming in. Thanks everyone for your enthusiasm!

    I am checking all the logo updates frequently, to ensure I see all new logo entries. :)

    But I don't have enough time any more to comment with individual feedback on all new logo entries. :(

    So, I'm sorry if you submit a logo and I can't give you detailed feedback. I have to ensure that I rate all the logos, and also continue with all of my other work for my job!

    Please don't spend your time to submit a logo that is identical to a logo by someone else. I sort the entries by "Time Submitted", so I can see which version came first. If someone already submitted that exact same logo, it's not fair if I reward someone else for that logo later.
