I'm updating my personal website and need a logo. Based on the site template, the ideal size would be something close to 200px x100px. The logo should reflect the following.

My Name: Scott Whitsitt
My Colors: muted tones with preference for pastel, blue, and light colors
My Interests: Businessman with a variety of ventures going on. Also a family man with 4 kids and beautiful wife.
Style Preference: Something modern. I will be using lots of photo images on the site, so keep that in mind.

I like the idea of converting my Freelancer head shot photo into a sketch, and then incorporating that into the logo design. I've attached some pictures you can use if you want to try different variations.

This is a tiny project, but I am always looking for good designers for other work. There will likely be more work for you if selected.

It will be convenient to work on an original photo since the one i worked on was a thumbnail.So I will give another try to make the sketch perfect if you provide me your original image. Some of the script fonts work pretty well. Since its a personal website, that style of font is probably better than a more traditional font that you would see in a corporate logo. Also, most of you are keeping the logo in a landscape design ... which is good. If you proposed a portrait oriented logo, you should probably re-read the requirements.

I am going to reject some of the designs that I am sure will not make the cut. All of them are pretty decent, so please don't take offense. Just need to get a smaller group to consider. Thanks for the ideas.

Using a different color for first and last name is a good design strategy, and makes the logo more readable.

One option that might be considered is to convert my head shot image from Freelancer to a sketch image, and then incorporate that into the design. It would make the logo much more relevant to a personal website. Just an idea to consider.

The rings on entry #2 are attractive, but I don't know that they are relevant to the purpose of the logo. If they were hats or something to indicate that I wear many hats in my work and life, that might be interesting. But I'm not sure I follow the concept of the rings.

The site will be based on a DNN template that you can view here: http://demo2.websitescreative.com/responsive/Home.aspx. The top level navigation will include Travels, Family, Business Ventures, Resume, Blog, and Contact. The objective is a combination of personal branding and a way to disseminate information to friends and family.
