simple map of neighborhood and Jerusalem and the main roads

We need this design to appear on a fridge magnet and on a flyer and some other places.

The purpose of the map is not to follow it along the city, but to give a general idea of the orientation of the city, the main places in it, and the main roads going across it.

The map has to look ok also on a small print of a quarter of a page.
Neighborhoods can apeare in different colors, similar, or same. just a matter of design.

The neighborhoods that should appear on the map:
Old city
City of David (part of Silwan)
Mount of olives
Mount Scopus
Machane Yehuda (the food market)
Mea Searim (including the blocks around it)
Kiryat ha’Leom - the national compound
Givat Ram - Ram hill
Rechavia= Rehavya
Germen colony
Mount Hertzel = Mount of Memorey
Ein Karem

The main roads should be marked on the map:
Road 1
Road 60
Road 50 = Begin Road
and other smaller roads is it helps defining the borders of the neighborhoods.

Arrows will show to where the roads lead to:
1 west to Tel Aviv
1 east to: Judaen desert, Massada, Jordan
60 south: Gush etzion, Hebron
60 north: semaria mountain (west bank)
50 north: to road 443, Modiin, Tel Aviv

The borders of the neighborhoods don't have to be 100% accurate.
Jjust to be clear enough for someone to know roughly where they are and what general direction they need to go to work to get to any of these neighborhoods.

On the map some important places will be marked,
there won't be room on the map, but rather a symbol or a number
and on the side a list of these places.

Old city
Gates to the old city
Temple mount
Western wall
church of the holy sepulcher
Israel museum
Yad v’shem = holocaust museum
mount Hertzel cemetery.
Knesset = Israel’s parlament
suprime court
Machne Yehuda Marken
Ben Yehuda st.
biblical zoo

How to do it -
step 1 - mark the roads using my marked google map file no. 1
step 2 - add a layer of the borders of Jerusalem monicipality (west and east. file no.2
step 3 - add the neighborhoods using file no. 3. it's in hebrew, but the shape is the same and you can have the roads overlap.
step 4 - keep some of the important neighborhoods as described above, and the rest leave insegnificant .
step 5 - add the places listed above, arrows to the ends of the roads.
step 6 - polish the design.
I hope to swinish this in a short time

yeah, now i know the Jerusalem!.... online. Just online.... I worked in Corel Draw X15, but can export in in AI CS5 format, no problem.

Just number 7 ammunition hill is in the wrong location- it should be between Sanhedria and east city center (see it on google the link below. Goodle mixed it with ammunition hill stree which is something else.

I'll need the AI file to print this on different sizes.

border between east and west Jerusalem -
the same line (“the green line”) continues out of the municipal borders.
continue it just a little bit out of the Jerusalem municipal border line,
Make it greenish,
and anyway leaeve it open on the west side. (example attached)

Old city is in the east side.

Temple mount is the rectangle around the dome of the rock

4 quartes of the old city (maby just the lines of there is no room for the names.

all the built area in the same darker blue like the neighborhoods.

I erased some of the border lines, and added neighborhood names in english.

1) I think some content can be on the map, and some on the legend: neighborhood names on the map, and sites on the legend.  and then we don’t need to mark some neiborhoods orange.
2) add the line between the east and west side of the city, but make it very gentle. Then write west Jerusalem and East Jerusalem on the sides. this too, in a gentle manner.
3) old city has to have a significant color.
4) Mark the temple mount and dome of the rock on the map.
5) let’s fordet about old city gates, It’s too small. Or if possible just a little gate symbol, with no writing or number, for: Jaffa gate, Zion gate, Dung gate, Damascus gate.
6) you got the roads and the arrows right. I think it will be more clear if the arrow and writing are on the edge of the road horizontally.
