We are looking for an experienced illustrator to design a character that will be used in future animations and marketing activities. The character itself should be relatable to a broad age demographic, from children to their parents. Dynamic, engaging, with a strong visual aesthetic using thick and round lines.

Defining qualities of this character are those of the positives of the quintessential Cowboy. Emblematic of the rugged, hard working inhabitants of the North American West. Strong values of honour, respect, family and duty. A fun loving side as well - they work hard and play hard. There is a wealth of expression in their face. Strong eyes and jaw. No moustache.

We'd like to see Yosemite Sam meets Guy Weadick, with some of the affable personality of Woody, and then it meets your creativity... Important brand colours to consider are red and white.

The character will be used across a broad range of mediums, from web based animations to print advertising.

Would be looking for deliverables in Adobe Illustrator than can then be used for print, animation and other uses.

There are other competitors on other platforms who will be contributing their mock ups. However, for this contest the winner will receive the prize; and, be at the top of our shortlist for the eventual character being used. The winner, prior to commencing any potential further work-for-hire on refining the design and elements (for which they would also be paid a fee - if selected) will have to sign a Non Disclosure Agreement as well as assigning all intellectual property and media rights to us.
