It was magento 1.7. Installation of 1.8 went wrong I assume. Anyway, someone looked into it and they said the folder is a mess with bits and pieces of magento missing. There were a few plug ins installed. Not sure where they go and if they're still there. I will award project when there are a few more entrants. Thanks for your interest.
