We are looking for an artist to help us design a new slot machine game.

We would like this game to be based on old-school RPG games, like the 8-bit Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior games. I suppose we can go 16-bit to get some quality Chrono Trigger in there too. If you know and love these games, like I do, this is a perfect job for you.

I would like you to design a sample title screen for this game, sized 800 x 600px. The game has not been named yet, so any name that calls back to these old-school RPGs is perfect. If you can't think of a better name, you can use "RPG Game" for now.

In addition to the title screen, I would like to see 5 icons, sized 200 x 200px of some of the various items and characters that might appear in this game.

So, for example, you might have icons of a fighter, a mage, a red potion, a sword, and a key. Typical RPG stuff. You are encouraged to come up with your own ideas that fit this same overall theme.

  Yes, unfortunately it was a lot harder than I expected and I couldn't finish the color in time but,
  I uploaded a color preview in a 8-bit style of the mage so please take a look to see if it fits what you are looking for.
  I actually used the grid and live paint tool in illustrator to achieve the pixelated look, it was kinda hard thought haha.

  yet it's still at least one day of work for a proper quality job ; no one wants to bet that much for "maybe "250 usd. if it's a prototype, just used ripped assets. Else, hire someone, as one screen and 5 items aren't enough to convey the 16bits JRPG feel you want for the game, as i'm pretty sure you're not going for a dumb reskin, with such a theme

Hello, great contest, such amazing games =' )
I'll start working right away, just one question. Regarding the characters, the sprites in chrono trigger look a bit taller and a little more defined than the ones in final fantasy and dragon quest games. Would you prefer a style closer to chrono trigger's sprites? or the closer to the 8 bit style the better?

  It needs to be consistent. I envisioned 8-bit style graphic, but once enlarged to large art, that might be too plain. So I leave it to your tastes. If a 256-color 16-bit design gives you more freedom, no worries. Like you said, the characters are different, so whatever you decide, be consistent.

I really REALLY love this project, and I'll definitely give a try. Although I would like to you guarantee the contest in order to give us some kind of security in our work not going in vain. The same for the other contest that you posted, both of them sounds really interesting and cool, and more artists would give a try if you guaranty them, just a friendly advice :)
