Kalen O'Tolan
The illustration shows the evolution of Kalen from a young child to a gallant warrior. The 9 year old Kalen is awed by the black stone and tries to get hold of it as it descends from the sky. The 18 year old Kalen trains hard with his sword. He shows potential of becoming a great leader. The jewel is his prized possession and can be seen around his neck. Almost a decade later, Kalen is 27 years old and has gained not only physical strength and skill but also mental abilities like patience and wisdom.

Some of my top favorites. Captures the emotions of the character as well as nice costuming. These could work not only as book illustrations, but as tattoos. Great work!
