Contest Brief

I need a talented artist to draw for me one illustration for a children's book.

Young and beautiful mermaid.
She has a sad look.
She has blonde hair.
She wears a necklace that has a shell as a pendant.
The mermaid is located on the sea floor and is looking upwards.

Image colors: Light and vibrant colors
Image background: Typical underwater landscape, red coral must be included.

At zoom level 100% (1:1) the image must be highly detailed.

Digital art (2D / 3D Computer Graphics) or traditional art will be ok.

Image aspect ratio: 1:1.6 rectangle (horizontal:vertical)
Minimum Image size: 2800x4500 pixels @300dpi
Graphic file: PNG or JPG 100% quality

No stock or clipart images.
No Fan Art.
Only original works, please.

Upon payment of the image, the artist will grant to me all the rights for the use and the reproduction of the image (copyright).
The artist will retain the moral rights (the right to be mentioned as the author of the artwork).
Small, non-invasive artist's signature on the image is allowed.

Addendum:
- The illustration is for a sad love story, suitable for children from 5 to 10 years.
- The mermaid has a sad look, but a sweet face

Hi there! I'm quite interested in this contest, however I'm just wondering what level of finish you're requiring at this stage for consideration in the contest? A rough sketch for example, or would you prefer a finished artwork? I'm happy to do either as I have a colourless sketch almost completed anyway, was just wondering as it sounds like a fun project and I would very much like to participate! Thanks.

  thank you for asking.
  
  I do not have foreclosures on the style of the illustration (that's why I have not posted reference images).
  
  It could be a photo-realistic 3d rendering, a watercolor or a cartoon.
  
  If cartoon, it should not be flat but "3d and realistic" (whatever that means), as I see in your "Steam Boy: The Children of the Ark" character concept, for example.
