For an inductive charging system, a wireless infrared communication interface is to be developed (IrDa). The communication unit must be integrated in the middle of an inductive charging coil. For space reasons, a separation between IrDa electronics (transceiver, decoder, encoder) and LED, diode is necessary. The electronics can be integrated at the edge of the charging coil so that there is a distance of approx. 13cm to the center of the coil. As an alternative concept the placement of the LED / diode on the electronics unit should be investigated. In this case the light signal has to be transmitted through an optical fiber to the coil center.
