I’ve always wanted 7" wide-plank European White Oak (engineered for the CO climate). Is it a bad idea to start the 'dream floor' in just the bedroom now and have it clash with the hallway for 3 years until I can afford the rest or if I ever decide to do the rest? Or is it better to just patch the old red oak, even though the pros say the wood won't perfectly match the 1950s grain?
