I recently produced immersive 3D content rendered for dome projection, working in fisheye domemaster output with a floor channel included. How I would proceed: 1. Photogrammetry and reference at the key sites, Qunu, Vilakazi Street, the Robben Island cell, Howick and the Union Buildings, so each scene is the real place rather than an impression. 2. One pilot scene first, at full quality, so you can test it inside the dome before committing the rest. 3. Real-time production in Unreal rather than pre-rendered frames, which keeps interactivity open and lets scenes be re-cut without re-rendering everything. 4. Comfort built into the camera language: slow anchored moves and a steady horizon, since fast motion at the edge of vision unsettles dome audiences, especially across ages 6 to 90. 5.
