Seeking Skilled Rhino / Grasshopper Designer for SUV Overlander Pop-Up Tent & Trailer hit hitch bathroom

Hi! I'm building an overlander adventure rig to drive across America on a mission to support disaster relief and help communities in need. I’ll be spending one month in Asheville assisting with hurricane recovery efforts, and one month in Los Angeles helping with fire disaster relief. In between, I’ll be engaging with local communities across the country to see how I can be of service—offering my time, tools, and heart wherever they’re needed. To do this, I need a fully off-grid mobile home that allows me to live simply, travel freely, and give generously. I’m looking for an experienced Grasshopper + Rhino designer to help bring this to life by refining my design for an SUV overlander pop-up tent and trailer hitch mounted expandable bathroom. The project includes creating a parametric model, fabrication-ready part files, an animation of the system deploying, and high-quality renders to visually communicate the concept. I am finishing the 3D SketchUp model this week, but have attached my initial concept sketch for your review. I'm very excited to collaborate with a designer to make this dream a reality and bring this project to life with precision, visual clarity, and build-ready outputs. Project Goals: • Recreate and optimize my SketchUp design in Grasshopper. • Design must be fully parametric—dimensions and angles adjustable via sliders. • Components exported individually as 2D DXF/SVG files for waterjet cutting. • Include accurate hinge articulation and part motion for animation. • Provide nested sheet layouts for fabrication efficiency. • Include detailed exploded views highlighting all components: main panels, hinges, latches, connection points to vehicle, windows, door, solar panel integration. Visual Deliverables: • High-Quality Renders: Rendering of Lexus GX 550 with rooftop tent in both open and closed positions in a mountainous landscape backdrop. • Animated Deployment: Short animation (10–20 seconds) showing tent and bathroom opening mechanism. Preferably using Grasshopper’s animate tools, or via Bongo/Blender/Keyshot. Deliverables: • Rhino (.3dm) + Grasshopper (.gh) files • Exported 2D DXF/SVG part files (one per component) • Nested sheet layouts for efficient fabrication • Animation video (.mp4 or equivalent) • High-resolution still renders (JPEG/PNG) Ideal Candidate: • Proven experience in Grasshopper-based fabrication design • Strong understanding of deployable structures, hinges, and parametric modeling • Skilled in realistic rendering (KeyShot, Blender, V-Ray, etc.) • Ability to manage a quick and collaborative design feedback loop • Bonus: Familiarity with overlanding or camper builds • A key priority for me is clear communication and prompt responsiveness to messages.
