I am assessing whether the legacy manual planetary gearbox fitted to the T-72 and T-90 can be replaced by an automatic or hydro-mechanical transmission without major hull surgery. The first milestone concentrates on mapping the existing mechanical linkages; I already hold detailed physical measurements taken from in-service vehicles and can supply photographs, call-outs and limited 3D scans. Your task is to translate that raw data into a clean CAD representation, trace every selector shaft, cam, lever and rod, and show how they interact with the housing and driver controls. Once the linkage map is established, we will use it as the reference for envelope, torque-path and cooling-flow comparisons against candidate automatic units used in modern MBTs. Expect to evaluate adapter-plate geometry, torque-converter placement and clearances for revised oil-cooler routing, all within the confines of the existing engine compartment. I work primarily in SolidWorks and CATIA, but STEP delivery is fine if you prefer Creo or Inventor. Native, fully-constrained models with clearly named features are essential; no dumb solids, please. A concise design note explaining assumptions, interference checks and any dimensional uncertainties will be part of the acceptance criteria. If you have hands-on experience reverse-engineering heavy-vehicle drivetrains and can turn physical measurements into an accurate mechanical linkage model, I’d like to begin immediately.
