Dust sealing without gaskets and a polished metal spin-off pull in different directions, since a labyrinth that moulds cleanly in plastic needs other radii once it's machined in metal. I'd design the plastic version first with generous transitions. I've produced drawings of units and tooling for aluminium structures in production, though final gate placement should be confirmed with your toolmaker.
