High-Detail Silicone Food Mould Design

I want to launch a fresh range of premium silicone food moulds under our brand, Mould Works, aimed squarely at professional chefs. The line must cover cakes, chocolates and pastries, so each design has to balance eye-catching detail with the rock-solid durability a commercial kitchen demands. Here is how I see the job unfolding: • Research – Start by mapping out what is already on the market for chefs: shapes, sizes, cavity counts, release finishes and any recurring pain points around cleaning or longevity. A concise findings summary will guide the design direction. • Concept development – Translate those insights into several mood boards and quick CAD thumbnails, narrowing down to the strongest forms. I am open to innovative textures or multi-cavity layouts if they stay practical for high-volume service. • Engineering in SolidWorks – Convert the approved concepts into fully parametric SolidWorks parts. Every model must be manufacturing-ready for silicone compression or injection moulding: correct draft angles, venting, fillet radii, avoidance of tear-prone undercuts and a volume analysis that confirms even wall thickness. • Design for durability – Wherever aesthetics and robustness collide, robustness wins. Material cross-sections, ribbing and edge treatments should all reflect heavy daily use, hot-cold cycling and industrial dish-washing. • Handover – Final package should include the .SLDPRT files, eDrawing views for non-CAD stakeholders, STEP exports, a short build sheet that lists silicone grade assumptions and any tooling notes the factory will need. Acceptance will be based on clean SolidWorks geometry that runs through draft analysis without errors, plus evidence that the parts can be demoulded and will withstand commercial wear.
