Project Title: Bio-Inspired Disc Brake Design with Dust Collection System (ANSYS Analysis) Project Description: I am a final-year engineering student working on a disc brake project. The main aim is to reduce the formation of the third body layer (dust and debris) on the brake disc by improving airflow and adding a dust collection system. We have already: Designed a basic disc brake model Tried different groove patterns (including Tesla valve-inspired shapes) Studied airflow behavior for dust movement Now, we want to develop a final improved design using bio-inspired groove patterns that can help create unidirectional airflow, pushing dust towards the collection system. What I Need Help With: I am looking for an experienced engineer who can guide and assist with: Suggesting bio-inspired groove designs (like leaf veins, shark skin, etc.) Modifying the existing disc model with final groove geometry Setting up and running CFD / airflow analysis in ANSYS Workbench (or similar) Comparing: Modified disc vs unmodified disc Airflow pattern, dust movement, and performance Helping interpret results and improve the design if needed Tools & Skills Required: ANSYS Workbench (CFD preferred) Experience in fluid flow / airflow simulations Knowledge of brake systems is a plus Basic understanding of bio-inspired design Expected Output: Final disc brake CAD model with bio-inspired grooves Simulation results (velocity, pressure, flow pattern) Comparison between old and new design Short explanation/report of results. Timeline: Flexible (preferably within 2-3 weeks) Additional Notes: This is an academic project, so clear explanations and guidance are important. I may ask questions during the process.
