Seeking Residential Draftsperson / Emerging Architectural Designer (Construction-Ready Permit Drawings from Existing Concept Package) We are seeking a freelance residential draftsperson, residential designer, or emerging architectural professional to help transform an existing developed concept package into construction-ready permit drawings for a custom single-story cottage/bungalow-style residence to be built in central Alabama. The residence is approx. 2,000 square feet and has already undergone significant conceptual development, including: floorplan layout exterior style direction accessibility considerations courtyard and breezeway planning aging-in-place functionality room relationships and general design intent The home includes: zero-entry / zero-elevation design wide breezeways suitable for future wheelchair accessibility dual en-suite bedrooms ADA-accessible secondary primary bath with roll-in shower courtyard-centered layout detached-style garage/storage wings connected via breezeways simple bungalow/cottage exterior aesthetic intended to blend naturally with wooded surroundings We are NOT seeking a full luxury architectural package at this stage. The goal is a professional, buildable permit/construction drawing set suitable for builder pricing and eventual construction. Ideal candidate experience: residential drafting/design cottage, bungalow, or aging-in-place layouts slab foundation homes practical, buildable residential detailing familiarity with Southern or Alabama residential construction is a plus (preference for candidates in the southeastern region of the U.S.) We are also open to: 5th-year architecture students recent architecture graduates emerging residential designers …provided they can supply: samples of previous work references (academic or professional) strong communication and organizational skills *Everyone starts somewhere, and we are open to helping add experience to a resume/portfolio. We value thoughtful design, collaboration, and professionalism. Please include: portfolio samples estimated pricing structure estimated timeline (must be able to deliver within two weeks) software/platform used whether revisions are included whether coordination with other professionals would be available at future stages of the project, if needed. This project already has a strong conceptual direction and is best suited for someone who enjoys refining and technically executing an established vision rather than developing a concept entirely from scratch.
