Code Analysis (Written)

Looking for a written code analysis and recommendations for optimizing the performance of .NET console application (project files to be provided for analysis) I'm looking for someone who communicates well, can write this up and walk me through the analysis in a Skype screenshare session, showing me how the import performance of the app can be improved. I'm looking for someone who can do this immediately and knock it out within a few hours... 1. Review the code and database schema of the code I send you 2. Write up a step by step list of recommendations 3. Review your written analysis/recommendations with me via Skype, as we look at the code together Application is a small console application built in Visual Studio 2010 which imports XML data into a SQL Server database. The application uses Entity Framework to access the database. The elements of the app are as follows: the Entity Framework database model and a file with string constants for various database codes. the console application which actually imports the data. the XML file with a subset of data a SQL script for creating the SQL Server database that will hold the imported data, as a reference to show the destination database structure. A subset of the XML data with 8,724 records is provided in the DataToImport folder, while the full data export contains nearly 200,000 records. Although the application works, it tends to bog down on large data sets, with an import run of the full data set taking around 4 hours to complete when run on a Macbook Pro development environment. There are a number of possible optimizations that can be made to improve performance. Please describe what steps you would take to improve the import performance for this application. Feel free to suggest changes to the database schema if that will improve performance. The main point is to not feel locked in to this specific schema if another one would be more optimal, but keep in mind that another application will need to search and retrieve data from this database, and search performance will also be important.
