Task 1 (AC1.1 and 2.1)
The partners have asked you to write them an informal report detailing their duties under the implied terms of the Sale of Goods Act 1979, including the remedies they must provide for their customers in the event of non-compliance.
They also require specific advice on the situations detailed in the attached Task Sheet One. [Word guide 2500]

Task 2 (AC 3.1)
The complaints department has received a letter from a local lady, Miss Gilliver, regarding an incident in which she was injured whilst walking along a pavement when a tyre purchased from Carbitz by Mr Evans exploded as his car passed her – she suffered burns and cuts to her legs and her expensive jeans were ruined. She wants compensation.
Write her a letter explaining why you do not consider your company is responsible for her injuries but, for the sake of good customer relations, provide her with detailed information about how and from whom she might obtain compensation. [Word guide 1000]
Task 3 (AC4.1)
The partners have heard talk about The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008. Prepare a fact sheet analysing, with at least 3 examples, the ways in which the firm may become criminally liable under these regulations and possible sanctions, and advising on how best to avoid this. Task 4 (AC5.1)
The firm are considering supplying some higher value products to customers on hire purchase. Write a report for the senior partners detailing what they would have to do before they can legally provide credit, the formalities they must comply with when setting up a credit agreement with a customer and the effects of not complying with all these requirements.
