I have just set up a small consultancy business, and we have 3 projects going on at the moment and our accounts are in several different countries and currencies, with some of the money in cash. I would like someone to create a template for the expenses/balance sheets/income statements/whatever, for each project, as well as for company itself.
I want to be able to see how much is being spent on every project, as well as the profitability of the projects, be able to keep track of expenses in a very simple way, and of the company as a whole.
We also want the accountant to work on templates for budgets that we can use in upcoming projects. We would like some sort of way to compare the budget to actual expenditure.
Because we are a bit all over the place, I would like the accountant to have a couple of conversations over skype with me to decide on a customized accounting system, and set it up, and monitor some of the data entry. Since the projects are about to end, the accountant has to work with us on putting the accounts for those projects in order and prepare for new ones.
I will submit account statements and other stuff, of course.
If the accountant is good and responsive, I envision we can have some sort of ongoing relationship where our books are checked every month and we can ask for financial advice.
We are thinking of doing this on google spreadsheets so that the accounts are always in the cloud, but we're open to suggestions.
I am looking for someone who has strong accounting experience in a project management environment (consulting is even better), who will be understanding and flexible and has a strong command of written english.
