Hi! I want to be straight with you about one of your three deliverables before you read the rest, because it would be unfair to let you find out later. I do not work in Premiere, Final Cut or Resolve. My editing is scripted, frame-accurate and repeatable, which is excellent for cuts, transitions, grading and overlays, and it means the final .mp4 and the change log are no problem at all. But the editable project file with linked assets is a genuine limitation: I can hand you an XML timeline that Premiere or Resolve will open with your clips, order and cut points intact, and the effects will not survive that export. They live in the render, not in the project. So the honest question is what that project file is for. If it is insurance, so that someone can re-cut this later, the XML timeline plus the change log covers it and you lose nothing. If you genuinely intend to reopen the edit and adjust the effects yourself, you want an editor who works inside one of those tools, and I would rather say so now than take your money and disappoint you in week two. If the render is what matters, here is what you get from a scripted edit that a timeline does not give you. Transitions and timings are written down, so "make that cross-dissolve half a second shorter, everywhere it appears" is one change rather than forty manual ones. Your mixed 1080p and 4K footage gets normalised deliberately, with the 4K clips downscaled properly rather than left to the timeline's own guesswork, which is where softness and frame-rate judder usually creep in. And each draft is reproducible, so a revision never quietly changes something you had already approved. Free first, no agreement needed: send the cloud link and I will cut one representative minute with the transitions and grading applied, so you can judge the style against your footage rather than against my description. One question: how much raw footage is there, and how long should the finished piece run?

Hello, Two things in your brief tell me what this job actually needs. First: "without feeling overproduced". That is the whole job. Most editors answer a transitions brief by reaching for every preset they own, and the result looks like a template rather than your footage. Transitions should carry the cut where the footage genuinely changes direction, and stay out of the way everywhere else. Second: "export settings consistent with the source". Mostly 1080p with occasional 4K. I will keep the timeline at the higher resolution so the 4K clips are not softened by an early downscale, then export to match your source spec rather than re-encoding twice. My working method: first pass is structure only, no effects. Trim, reorder, fix the pacing, and make sure the cut works silently. Effects go on afterwards, on a cut that already holds attention. If the structure needs effects to survive, the structure is wrong. I work in a DaVinci Resolve and FFmpeg workflow, so colour and audio stay consistent and the final export is clean. Since there is no pressing deadline, I would suggest this: send me the raw footage, I cut the first thirty to sixty seconds and send it back before you commit to anything.
