For the milestone calculator I'd read the daily rate as a string with fgets then parse it with sscanf rather than scanf directly, that way a stray letter or empty line doesn't leave junk in the input buffer and crash the loop, then validate it's positive before running the day count. I'd probably use a while loop that just adds the rate each iteration and counts days until it hits or passes 100000, printing the exact day it crosses, plus a fallback message if someone enters 0 or a negative rate instead of the program looping forever. Comments would explain the why behind the loop condition and the validation, not just restate the code, and I'll hand you a single clean .c file that compiles with no warnings on gcc.
