Hi guys brief below just a short explanation, looking for someone to start asap on a growing Australian fishing app. Our developers were good we would just prefer a freelancer someone with very good English, transparency and someone to look after our app going forward and implement the following features to finish the build. It’s currently out on App and play store. We just want to tidy it up around the edges, and then implement the duplicate spear fishing side. We wish to stick with someone long term, build a good work relationship. Would love to briefly meet someone who takes this position to show hard copy ideas but not a must. Also we are flexible with payment options, for the finishing touches I think a one off payment would be better, and then hourly when the spear fishing side coming into it? Happy to discuss further if this is for you. Thank you Project Title: iOS App UI Update + Feature Expansion (Supabase Backend) Overview: We have an existing iOS app called “Down to Fish” built using Swift/Xcode, with a Supabase backend. The app is live and functional. We are looking for a developer to: 1. Implement UI improvements (already designed in Figma) 2. Add a new “user type” feature to separate Fishing and Spearfishing communities within the app --- Current Tech Stack: - Frontend: iOS (Swift, Xcode) - Backend: Supabase (database, auth, storage) - CI/CD: Xcode Cloud --- Scope of Work: 1. UI Updates - Implement updated designs from Figma - Improve layout, spacing, and overall UX - Maintain existing functionality while improving flow --- 2. User Type System (Fishing vs Spearfishing) - Add user selection during onboarding: - Fishing - Spearfishing - Store selection in Supabase (e.g. user profile field) - Update app logic to: - Filter content based on selected type - Ensure users only see relevant posts, users, and data - Keep both communities separate within the same app --- 3. Content Filtering - Apply “type” (Fishing/Spearfishing) to: - Posts - Feeds - Any relevant categories - Ensure clean separation in UI (feels like two communities) --- 4. Optional (nice to have) - Simple admin controls or structure to support future filtering/expansion --- Expectations: - Clean, maintainable code - Clear communication - Ability to work with an existing codebase - Experience with Supabase preferred --- Access Provided: - Existing codebase - Supabase project access - Figma designs - TestFlight / build access --- Goal: Improve user experience and expand the app to support two distinct but similar user groups without duplicating the app. --- Timeline: Flexible, but preference for staged delivery (UI updates first, then feature implementation) --- Please include in your proposal: - Relevant iOS apps you’ve worked on - Experience with Supabase or similar backends - Experience working on existing projects - Rough estimate or approach

Good to see this project, I will implement the Figma UI updates, build the user type system for Fishing vs Spearfishing, and wire up content filtering — all within your existing Swift/Supabase stack. For the user type separation, I will add a profile field in Supabase and apply row-level security policies so each community's posts and feeds are filtered at the database level — not just in the UI. This keeps the separation secure and makes future expansion straightforward. I am happy to share relevant examples in our chat. Questions: 1) Is the Android version also Swift-based (e.g., KMP) or a separate codebase? 2) How are posts currently structured in Supabase — single table or split across multiple? This bid is an initial estimate — I will confirm the final cost and timeline once we have walked through the complete requirements together. Ready to start whenever you are. Kamran

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ✅Hi there, hope you are doing well! I have worked on several iOS apps integrating Supabase backends where I successfully enhanced UI and implemented user segmentation features that smoothly separated user groups without duplicating the app. From my experience, the most important part of this project is maintaining clean, maintainable code while seamlessly integrating new features into the existing codebase. ⭕My approach will be: - Implement the UI improvements exactly as designed in Figma - Develop the user type selection during onboarding and store it in Supabase - Apply content filtering logic to posts, feeds, and relevant data categories - Maintain clear separation of communities within the app UI - Optionally build simple admin tools to support future expansions ❓Could you please clarify if the backend Supabase schema for user profile is already set up to handle the new user types? I am confident I can deliver the UI improvements and user type feature effectively and look forward to a long-term collaboration on maintaining and scaling your app. Best regards, Nam

It sounds like you’re looking to smooth out the edges on an already live app and carefully introduce a new user type without breaking the experience for existing users. I’d start by going through the Figma updates and mapping them directly onto the current Swift UI components, making sure spacing and flow feel natural on all device sizes. Once that’s solid, I’d add the user type selection in onboarding, storing it in Supabase, then wire the content feeds to respect that type so fishing and spearfishing posts remain properly separated. I’d handle edge cases like users switching types mid-account and ensure feeds don’t accidentally mix content. A subtle improvement I’d include is a lightweight in-app toggle to let users explore the other community temporarily, which boosts engagement without complicating the main UX. I’ve done similar work on a live Vue/Supabase project where careful data segmentation prevented cross-feed errors while keeping the interface clean. Do you envision admin controls being more about content moderation or user management? I’m ready to start implementing this right away.

With a keen understanding of the US/Australian fishing market, I believe I'm the perfect fit for your Down to Fish project. Firstly, my extensive experience in backend development and mobile app development suits the needs of this project; handling databases and ensuring clean UI separation are right up my alley. Combining your provided Figma designs with my coding skills, I'll implement sleek UI updates that improve layout, spacing, and overall UX, while maintaining the existing functionality and improving flow efficiently. Secondly, my proficiency with Supabase and similar backends allows me to seamlessly integrate the "user type" feature you desire into the app. I am experienced at implementing user selection during onboarding and storing the selection in Supabase for effective content filtering and data management. I'll make sure users only see relevant posts, users, and data as per their selected type while maintaining a clear separation between Fishing and Spearfishing communities within the same app. Lastly, as a business oriented developer myself, I understand how important good communication is for fostering long-term work relationships.

Hi, this sounds like a great fit and I can step in smoothly to stabilise the current build, polish the UI and then expand the app with the new spearfishing community without disrupting what’s already working. I’ve worked on Swift iOS apps backed by Supabase and I’m comfortable taking over an existing codebase, tightening the UX and then layering in new logic without creating regressions. For the UI pass, I follow your Figma exactly and clean up spacing, navigation flow and component consistency so the app feels more finished without changing the core behaviour your users already know. For the new user type system, I add the selection in onboarding, store it in Supabase and update the feed logic so each person sees only the community they belong to. The idea is to make it feel like two distinct spaces inside one app rather than a duplicated build. If you want to move forward, I can share a couple of iOS apps I’ve worked on that involved Supabase, community feeds and feature expansion on top of an existing codebase. Let me know whether you’d like to see examples focused on UI refinement, backend integration or both and I’ll send the most relevant ones.

Hi, This is a strong fit because the app already has the right foundation in place with Swift/Xcode, Supabase, and an existing live production flow. The important part here is not simply adding another category, but restructuring the app logic so Fishing and Spearfishing feel naturally separated across onboarding, feeds, posts, profiles, and future expansion while still sharing one maintainable codebase. I’d approach this in stages: first implementing the Figma UI/UX improvements cleanly without breaking existing functionality, then introducing the user-type architecture and Supabase filtering logic across feeds, posts, and profile data. I’m comfortable working inside existing iOS codebases, refactoring production apps, integrating Supabase-backed workflows, and improving app UX while keeping releases stable through TestFlight/Xcode Cloud workflows. Long-term maintenance and feature iteration are also something I’m comfortable with if you’re looking for an ongoing relationship rather than a one-off patch job.

Hi there, I’m Cindy Viorina, an experienced mobile app developer with a solid background in enhancing applications like yours. I've reviewed your project requirements for the "Down to Fish" app and I'm excited about the opportunity to help improve its usability and implement the new features for the fishing and spearfishing communities. Drawing on my experience with Swift and Xcode, I will first implement the UI updates as designed in Figma, ensuring that users enjoy a seamless experience while maintaining existing functionalities. Then, I will develop the user type system, which effectively separates the fishing and spearfishing communities, ensuring that each user only engages with relevant content. I can get started immediately and will provide a clear timeline for the updates and features. I’m available for real-time communication according to your time zone, and I can deliver a simple demo or portion of the project within 12 hours of commencement. Q1: What specific UI elements do you wish to prioritize in the updates? Q2: Are there any unique features or functionalities for the Spearfishing community you envision? Q3: What kind of metrics or data do you want to gather from user interactions? I look forward to discussing this project further.

Most apps that need a “two‑community” split struggle because the separation is enforced only in the UI, which leaks mixed content and creates poor UX. The real fix is a small schema + query change so the app and backend consistently treat Fishing and Spearfishing as first‑class user attributes. My approach: deliver in two staged sprints — (1) implement the Figma UI tweaks in the existing Swift codebase while preserving current flows, (2) add a user_type field in Supabase, extend posts with a type tag, and update query/filter logic so feeds, profiles and searches return only relevant items. I’ll include a lightweight onboarding choice and migrate/tag existing posts with a simple script. Recommended stack/implementation: keep Swift/Xcode (no rewrite), use the Supabase iOS client (auth, storage, Postgres), leverage Xcode Cloud for CI, and enforce server-side filtering via Supabase queries/RLS for clean separation. Optional: small admin flag in Supabase for future content controls. For maintenance I provide readable commits, brief unit/ui tests and hourly support after handover for spear-fishing features. Similar project: PicMe — built a marketplace mobile app with user roles, filtered feeds, auth and bookings; that experience maps directly to role-based feeds and migrations here. Estimate: 1–2 week UI pass then 1–2 weeks for user_type + migration — total ~1125 AUD. Would you prefer server-side enforcement (RLS + query filters) or front-end only while you review the migration of existing posts? I’m available for a short call to kick off.
