Advert Freelance AI / Software Engineer required — UK Infrastructure SaaS There is a planning process that sits behind a large slice of UK national infrastructure delivery. It is done by hand. It has always been done by hand. An experienced engineer spends two to three days on a drawing, a spreadsheet and a street map, and produces a programme of work that hundreds of people then execute. Nobody has automated it. Not because the software is impossible — because the logic has never been written down. It lives in the heads of a small number of very experienced people. I am one of them. I have spent the last year writing it down. Where the project is now A substantial amount has already been built for the MVP. The platform exists and works. What I do not have is an independent technical view on whether it has been built well — whether the architecture will hold, whether the decision logic is sound and testable, and what stands between where it is now and genuinely world-class software that can be taken to UK utility infrastructure giants and eventually worldwide. What I need doing A thorough review of the existing build, and a clear-eyed answer to one question: what would it take to make this world class? The system covers: Document understanding — extracting structured technical data from engineering drawings, mixed vector and raster, no two issuers formatting alike. The hardest part, and the part I most want a second opinion on. A decision logic layer — expert judgement encoded into the system. My view is that most of this should be deterministic and testable rather than LLM-inferred. I want someone who will argue that through with me properly rather than reach for the nearest RAG pipeline. Constraint-based scheduling — sequencing dozens of interdependent work areas against resource, geographic and statutory timing constraints. Live data integration — several authoritative public and commercial APIs feeding the model. Generated outputs — programmes, technical drawings and reports that go straight to a client. Presentation quality is part of the product, not a nice-to-have. Multi-tenant SaaS wrapped around all of it. I want to know what is solid, what is fragile, what is missing, and what you would do differently. Honesty is worth more to me here than reassurance. I am an engineer specialising in gas pipelines, and have no knowledge on AI / API / software development which is why I've had a company build it for me. The deliverable is a written assessment covering the architecture, the extraction component, the decision logic and the test coverage, plus your view on the work needed to take it to world class. Fixed fee, agreed up front. If there is more to look at than that scope allows, tell me and we will agree it separately. Why this is worth your time The specification already exists. The domain expertise is on tap — you will be talking to me, daily, not to a product owner relaying answers. The commercial buyers are large, regulated, well-funded and currently doing this on spreadsheets. There is nothing like this. If it is built correctly, it becomes the standard tool for the sector. The same model extends across several adjacent utility industries with near-identical constraints. How I want to structure this I should be straight with you about where I sit. I am the sole owner of the company. I work full time in the industry this product is built for — which is exactly why I know the problem is real and why the logic behind it exists at all. There is no board, no investors and no committee. Whoever comes in deals directly with me. I want to do this in two stages. Stage one — the review. A fixed fee, paid, for a bounded piece of work: look at what exists and tell me honestly what state it is in and what it would take to make it world class. I would rather pay properly for a few days of a specialist's time than ask anyone to work on spec. Stage two — the build. If the review goes well and we both want to carry on, what follows is a partnership rather than a contract. Real equity, properly documented, in a new company set out to change how the utility infrastructure industry approaches design, planning and project delivery. So: paid for the first piece, and a share of what it becomes if you want to build it. If you have wanted ownership of something with a clear market, partnering with someone who has key contacts in that market and works in it, and you have the technical depth to make it world class, this is worth a conversation. I'd like someone who wants to become a partner in the business, who is excited with the sound of the project and genuinely believes they can deliver a world class product. How it would work UK-based and English speaking. Not negotiable. I need direct, unambiguous conversation with the person actually doing the work, something I misjudged on the initial build. Your own hours. Fully remote, work it around whatever else you have on. I care about the quality of the assessment, not when you do it. Evening Teams calls. I am on site during the day, so evenings suit me for walkthroughs and questions. I will make myself properly available — the domain knowledge you will need is all in my head and I am happy to give you as much of my time as it takes. Curiosity about the domain. It is the whole moat, and it is genuinely more interesting than it sounds. One condition before we talk detail I have deliberately kept this advert vague. The value of what I have built sits in logic that has never existed as software before, so a signed NDA is required before the project is explained, before any access to the codebase, and before any discussion of the domain. That is not a formality — it is the reason there is no incumbent in this market. If the shape of this interests you, please get in touch. I will send the NDA over, and once it is signed I will tell you exactly what it is.

Hi — Elias here from Miami. I see you're looking to develop an AI-driven project scheduling automation tool. The goal here is to streamline planning processes and enhance efficiency, which is crucial for managing resources effectively. What usually matters most here is ensuring the system can scale with your needs. A common issue in systems like this is juggling complex workflows while maintaining a user-friendly interface. The tricky part is usually integrating AI components seamlessly into existing frameworks while ensuring reliability and ease of use. My approach would involve structuring the system to prioritize maintainability and integration. I’d focus on using modular components to allow for future enhancements and easy updates. I've worked on similar platforms that required robust backend integration and user-centric design, which taught me the importance of balancing functionality with user experience. A few questions to better understand the scope: Q1 – What user roles and permissions do you envision for this tool? Q2 – Are there specific external systems or APIs you need this to integrate with? Q3 – How do you foresee handling potential data security and privacy concerns? Happy to go through the details and suggest the best technical approach. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello!, I am a Florida-based senior software engineer, and this kind of AI-driven scheduling automation is exactly the sort of problem I like solving properly. Your main pain point is likely a planning process that is too manual, too slow, and too easy to get wrong when demand or priorities change. I can turn that into a practical scheduling workflow that is smarter, faster, and actually usable by the team. My approach would be simple and low-risk: 1. Map the current workflow and identify the decision points that can be automated. 2. Build the scheduling logic with AI-assisted rules, constraints, and approval steps. 3. Create a clean UI so the team can review, adjust, and trust the output. 4. Integrate it with your existing APIs/data sources and test real scenarios before release. I pay attention to the details others usually skim past, because with scheduling tools the small edge cases are what make or break adoption. A few quick questions: - What inputs should the scheduler handle first: people, jobs, locations, time windows, dependencies, or all of these? - Do you want AI to suggest schedules only, or also auto-assign and re-optimize when things change? - What systems should it integrate with on day one? Relevant work includes AI workflow dashboards, internal planning tools, and API-driven automation systems for logistics and ops teams. If helpful, I can also share a phased delivery plan so you can see exactly how I’d get this to a solid MVP fast. -James

I’m a senior software engineer with experience in AI systems, deterministic decision logic, document‑understanding pipelines and complex scheduling engines. I can provide the independent, technical, no‑nonsense assessment you’re looking for: what is solid, what is fragile, what is missing, and what it would take to make the platform genuinely world‑class. My Stage‑One deliverable will be a written technical review covering: • Architecture soundness and scalability • Document‑understanding pipeline (vector/raster extraction, OCR, feature consistency) • Deterministic decision‑logic structure and testability • Constraint‑based scheduling logic • API integrations and data‑flow reliability • Output generation quality • Multi‑tenant SaaS structure • Test coverage, risks and technical debt I’ll evaluate the system against best practices for deterministic expert systems, not LLM‑driven shortcuts. You’ll get a clear, actionable plan describing what works, what doesn’t, and what is required to reach “world‑class” quality. If the review aligns with your expectations, I’m open to Stage Two as a long‑term technical partner. Juna Pablo

The part that caught my attention is your view that expert decision logic should be deterministic and testable wherever possible, rather than pushed into an LLM or generic RAG layer. I agree, and that is exactly where I would focus the review. I’m US-based and work across AI systems, Python/backend architecture, APIs, databases, LLM workflows, document/data extraction, and production SaaS. My review would cover the existing architecture, mixed vector/raster drawing extraction, separation of deterministic rules from model judgment, scheduling/constraint logic, tenant isolation, API boundaries, testability, failure modes, and whether generated outputs can be traced back to source data and rule decisions. I would not approach this as a rewrite exercise. The goal would be to identify what is genuinely solid, what is fragile, and the smallest credible path from the current MVP to software suitable for regulated infrastructure clients. I can start immediately after award.

Hi, This is the kind of review where the important question isn't simply whether the MVP works, but whether the underlying engineering logic can be trusted, tested, and scaled. I’d approach the first stage as an independent technical assessment of the existing architecture, document-extraction pipeline, deterministic decision logic, constraint-based scheduling, API integrations, generated outputs, multi-tenant SaaS layer, and test coverage. I’d pay particular attention to the drawing extraction problem and the boundary between deterministic rules and AI, rather than assuming an LLM or RAG approach is appropriate. The final assessment would clearly separate what is solid, what is fragile, key technical risks, and the work required to reach production-grade software. Happy to sign the NDA and discuss the review scope. Best, Ivane

Hi, Your AI-driven project scheduling automation tool aims to streamline complex workflows by intelligently managing project timelines, which aligns with my experience designing scalable AI orchestration and automation pipelines. The main technical risk is ensuring reliable orchestration between AI model outputs and real-time scheduling data to maintain consistency and responsiveness. I typically design systems by separating ingestion, processing, and orchestration layers to allow independent scaling and easier troubleshooting. For this project, I’d validate early the integration between AI-driven predictions and scheduling adjustments. To ensure production reliability, I implement monitoring, retries, and fallback mechanisms to handle AI uncertainties and maintain system stability. I can start by outlining the ingestion and orchestration architecture to map how AI models will interact with scheduling data and APIs. Thanks, Clifton

Hi,The hidden problem here is not just building software , it is proving the current system is trustworthy enough to scale. Your review brief is exactly the kind of work where architecture, deterministic logic, document extraction, and testability need to be judged together, not in isolation. I’ve shared an initial estimate based on your description, and once we go over a few technical or functional details, I’ll confirm the exact cost and delivery schedule. I have strong experience across PHP, MySQL, Laravel-style systems, APIs, dashboards, and SaaS platforms, and I can give you a clear written assessment of what is solid, what is fragile, and what should be rebuilt. I’ll look closely at the extraction layer, the decision engine, integration points, and whether the test coverage is actually protecting the business logic. If helpful, I can start with the review scope, then walk you through findings and a practical roadmap to world class. Which part feels most mission-critical to you right now: extraction accuracy, scheduling logic, or architecture stability? Best regards, Asad

Hi there, I have read and understood the project details. You need an independent technical assessment of an existing infrastructure SaaS MVP, with particular attention to the architecture, document extraction, deterministic decision logic, constraint-based scheduling, API integrations, generated outputs, testing, and multi-tenant foundation. The goal is not reassurance, but an honest view of what is solid, fragile, missing, and what is required to reach a world-class product. I can review the existing codebase and architecture across the AI and software layers, including how engineering drawings are processed, where deterministic logic should replace LLM inference, how constraints and integrations are handled, and whether the current test strategy is sufficient. I’ll document findings with clear priorities, technical risks, recommended architecture, and a practical roadmap for the next stage. Once the NDA is signed, could you share the current technology stack and repository structure? Also, is the existing MVP deployed to a staging environment that I can evaluate alongside the source code? I’m comfortable treating Stage One as a properly scoped paid technical review and, if there is a strong fit, discussing a longer-term technical partnership afterward. Cheers, Rabia Shaikh

Hi, I’d be interested in reviewing the existing platform and giving you an honest, independent technical assessment rather than simply validating the current build. I can evaluate the architecture, document extraction pipeline, deterministic decision logic, constraint scheduling, API integrations, testing, SaaS structure, security, and generated outputs, then provide a clear roadmap from the current MVP to production-grade software. I particularly agree that expert decision logic should be deterministic and testable wherever possible, rather than forcing everything through an LLM. I’m comfortable working under NDA and would approach Stage One as a focused, fixed-scope technical review with practical recommendations and priorities for Stage Two. Best Regards, Shakila Naz

I've reviewed complex document extraction systems and constraint-based scheduling engines before, so this is right in my wheelhouse. I'll audit the architecture, validate the extraction logic against edge cases in engineering drawings, test the decision layer for determinism, and stress-test the scheduling constraints. I'll document everything—what works, what breaks, and what's missing—and propose a roadmap to production-grade reliability. I'll also review the API integrations and output generation for consistency and compliance. I can start immediately. Thanks, Andrii.

You're building a world-class AI-driven scheduling tool for critical infrastructure. I will deliver a written assessment that examines: architecture and how the decision logic is encoded and tested; the document understanding pipeline for diverse engineering drawings; constraint-based scheduling under resource, geographic, and statutory limits; live data integration from public and commercial APIs; and the multi-tenant SaaS wrapper. I will also apply user experience research thinking to dashboards and client-facing outputs to ensure clarity and adoption. What I will produce: a clear verdict on what is solid, what is fragile, what is missing, and what to change to reach world-class status. Deliverables include an architecture overview, extraction component critique, test coverage scope with concrete suggestions, and a prioritized backlog to guide Stage One and a plan for Stage Two. I will outline what it takes to reach production-grade readiness for UK utility-scale delivery. I bring API Development and Automation experience within enterprise-grade platforms, focusing on robust data pipelines, secure integrations, and scalable services. You’ll have direct, honest collaboration with me, and we’ll align on scope and next steps to pursue a world-class product together. NDA discussions and scope alignment can be addressed as needed.

Hello, This is an interesting project, particularly because the core value is in deterministic engineering logic and constraint-based scheduling, not simply adding an LLM. I can provide an independent technical review covering: Overall SaaS architecture and scalability Engineering drawing/document extraction pipeline Vector + raster document processing Decision/rules engine and testability Constraint-based scheduling architecture API integrations and data reliability AI/LLM usage: where it adds value and where it should be avoided Multi-tenant security and architecture Generated drawings, reports and programme outputs Automated testing and CI/CD Performance, security and maintainability Technical roadmap from current MVP to production-grade SaaS I’ll be direct about what is solid, what is fragile, what should be redesigned, and what is required to reach world-class quality. I’m comfortable signing an NDA before receiving access to the codebase and detailed domain information. If the review establishes a good technical and commercial fit, I’d also be interested in discussing the longer-term build/partnership opportunity. Best regards ADEEL

The technical risk here is translating implicit planning logic into executable AI, not the hardware or software itself. I will build the AI integration layer by directly ingesting the written logic, not by trying to reverse-engineer the existing manual process. You need an AI-Driven Project Scheduling Automation Tool. I will build this by creating an API that takes your documented planning logic as input. This API will then process that logic against project parameters to generate a programme of work. We will use Python with libraries like Pandas for data manipulation and a framework like Flask to serve the API. I am building it this way because the logic is already documented, so the focus is on direct implementation. I will build the core scheduling engine in Python, creating a service that reads your documented logic and then applies it. I am a Preferred Freelancer with a 5.0 rating over 10 reviews, delivered on time and on budget each time. What are the expected formats for the project parameters that the API will ingest? If you hand this over today, I will have the basic API structure built and ready to accept initial logic inputs by tomorrow.

Hello, I have carefully reviewed your project and understand that you are not looking for simple development support, but an independent technical assessment of an existing AI/SaaS platform and a clear roadmap toward a world-class product. I have experience with software architecture, AI integrations, API-driven platforms, SaaS systems, automation workflows, and evaluating technical scalability. The key challenge here is balancing AI capabilities with deterministic engineering logic. For infrastructure planning systems, I agree that critical decisions should be explainable, testable, and reliable rather than relying only on LLM-based inference. My approach would be to evaluate where AI adds real value, where rule-based systems are stronger, and how both can work together in a scalable SaaS architecture. A couple of quick questions: • What technology stack is the current MVP built with (frontend, backend, database, AI/document processing)? • Will the review include access to the codebase, architecture documents, and existing test results after NDA completion? I would approach this as a technical partner, focusing on identifying strengths, risks, missing foundations, and the practical steps required to reach enterprise-level readiness. Best regards, Carlos.

I would begin by tracing representative mixed vector/raster drawings from ingestion to client-ready programme, identifying exactly where extraction confidence, normalisation and provenance are lost rather than assuming an LLM/RAG layer solves it. Once the NDA is in place, I will assess tenancy boundaries, API failure modes, decision-rule representation, scheduler feasibility and testability. I will distinguish deterministic, versioned rules from genuinely probabilistic extraction, then define a world-class target: canonical data model, drawing test corpus, rule traceability and regression gates. ClearAgent is a multi-tenant operational SaaS I built, so I understand the need for tenant isolation around consequential workflows. You will receive a written architecture, extraction, logic and test-coverage assessment with prioritised risks and roadmap in 5 days. Do you already have representative drawings alongside the human-produced programmes they should result in? Muhammad Saad

Turning unstructured engineering drawings into deterministic scheduling logic while bypassing generic RAG pipelines is the right instinct for this domain. The biggest risk in a codebase built by an outsourced agency is usually hidden technical debt tucked inside the document extraction layer and brittle decision rules. I can audit the architecture, test coverage, and extraction pipeline to give you a clear assessment of what holds up and what needs rewriting before you pitch to utility giants. What tech stack was used for the current MVP build, and is the codebase contained in a single repository or split across services?
