I want a clean, well-documented Python layer that talks directly to my existing FileMaker solution. The goal is to let my scripts read, write, and update records that contain a mix of text, numbers, and other field types without disrupting daily use of the database. This is revamping an existing connection between law firm authorized user and external web database. Connection method is flexible—FileMaker Data API, XML Gateway, or ODBC are all acceptable as long as the final code is reliable, secure, and keeps the FileMaker file schema untouched. Because several people will eventually call these functions, I also need a simple role system inside the Python code (e.g., admin, editor, viewer) that maps to FileMaker credentials and cleanly blocks unauthorized actions. Please deliver: • A reusable Python module (Python 3.9+) with functions for create, read, update, delete. • Configuration file or section for server URL, database name, and role-based credentials. • A concise README showing installation steps, example calls, and how to extend the role logic. • Brief comments in the code explaining each significant step so future developers can pick it up fast. Additional Scope: • Fixing issues with PDF downloads from the court website. • Adding functionality to upload PDFs to the court filing portal. • Creating thorough documentation for future developers. • Supporting additional features as the project evolves.

Hi there, I understand you need a secure Python 3.9+ integration layer for your existing FileMaker law-firm database, with CRUD operations, role-based access, configurable credentials and no changes to the current FileMaker schema. I have strong experience building Python API/database connectors, secure credential mapping, REST/ODBC integrations, reusable modules and well-documented code for production business systems. I can implement the FileMaker Data API, XML Gateway or ODBC connection, add admin/editor/viewer permissions, provide clean CRUD functions, config-based setup, concise inline comments and a README with installation, examples and extension notes. Best regards, Stratos

Hello, I'd be glad to help you streamline the Python layer for your FileMaker solution while keeping everything clean and easy for future developers. I've previously integrated Python with FileMaker through Data API and ODBC, so I can build a simple module that handles CRUD and role-based access without touching your schema. I can keep the module clear, documented, and easy for others to extend later, using a straightforward config setup for roles and credentials. Thanks, Teo

OVER 10 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN IT, HIGH QUALITY DELIVERY Hey there! Law firm integrations like this one break most often at the authentication layer and PDF handling so those are the two things I would nail down completely before touching anything else in the codebase. I've built Python integrations with FileMaker using the Data API and I understand the specific pain points around session tokens, field type mismatches, and keeping the FM schema untouched while still doing reliable CRUD from the outside. The court PDF piece is something I've dealt with before too whether it's scraping protected portals or automating uploads through form submissions and I know how fragile those connections can get when the court site updates its structure. I'd build a clean reusable Python 3.9+ module with separate config for server URL, database name, and role mapped credentials so admin, editor, and viewer permissions are enforced at the Python layer before anything touches FileMaker. Every function gets clear comments and the README will be written for a developer who has never seen this codebase before so handoff is painless. I keep the scope flexible too since you mentioned additional features evolving over time and I'm comfortable working in that kind of ongoing hourly engagement where the requirements grow as the project moves forward.

Hello! I am a US-based senior software engineer with extensive experience in Python and data integration solutions. I carefully reviewed your project details regarding the Python layer for your FileMaker solution and I understand the importance of having a clean, well-documented integration. With about 15 years in software development, I can ensure a robust and efficient implementation that meets your needs. To ensure I can deliver the best results, could you please clarify the following questions to help me better understand the project? 1. What specific functionalities do you want the Python layer to support with FileMaker? 2. Are there any existing APIs or data structures within FileMaker that I should be aware of? 3. What is your timeline for this project? I have worked on similar integration projects where I developed APIs that streamlined data management processes, enhancing system performance. I focus on clear communication and structured milestones, ensuring that the final product is not only technically sound but also practical for your business. With my background and dedication to understanding project details, I believe I am the right fit for this task and I am eager to collaborate to achieve your project goals. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ✅Hi there, hope you are doing well! I have previously developed Python integration layers connecting external applications with FileMaker databases using the FileMaker Data API, enabling smooth CRUD operations without schema disruptions. Based on my experience, the most important part of successfully completing this project is creating a robust, secure API interface with clear role-based access control that maps correctly to user permissions. Approach: ⭕ I will build a clean, reusable Python 3.9+ module with functions for create, read, update, and delete operations. ⭕ Implement a flexible connection method (FileMaker Data API, XML Gateway, or ODBC) ensuring reliability and security. ⭕ Incorporate a simple role system (admin, editor, viewer) aligning with FileMaker credentials to restrict unauthorized actions. ⭕ Provide a configuration section for server URL, database, and credentials. ⭕ Write comprehensive inline comments and deliver a concise README including installation steps, example calls, and role logic extension. ❓ Could you please specify which connection method you prefer or if I should recommend the most secure and efficient one for your setup? I’m confident I can deliver a reliable, well-documented Python integration module quickly and efficiently. Best regards, Nam
