Title: Build Product Database & Automation for E-Commerce Catalog WHAT WE NEED We're building an e-commerce product catalog and need help setting up a database system that ties together product info, content, and images. Basically: Create a master Excel file that holds product data (specs, pricing, descriptions, images) Set up basic web scraping to pull product images and specs from websites Integrate AI content generation to auto-fill product descriptions and SEO fields Export everything in a format ready for our CMS (Sanity) THE WORKFLOW Excel → Supabase (our database) → Sanity (our CMS) → Website THE WORK Excel template — columns for product details, specs, pricing, images, SEO content Image scraper — pulls images from websites, compresses them, organizes them AI integration — auto-generates product descriptions, meta text, benefits Supabase integration — data syncs from Excel to our Supabase account CMS export — formats data for Sanity import (direct, no manual re-entry) DELIVERABLES Populated Excel file with products from different brand catalogues (PDFs ,jpg. etc) Image database (organized, compressed) Scraping script (documented so we can reuse it) AI content generation setup (working, tested) Supabase → Sanity export pipeline (automated, repeatable) Clear documentation for independent operation CRITICAL REQUIREMENT We take full ownership of this tool after delivery. This means: No ongoing dependency on external help We should be able to add new products, run scrapers, and export to Sanity independently All workflows must be simple, documented, and non-technical We're "no-code" / "low-code" oriented — keep it straightforward TECHNICAL SKILLS NEEDED Web scraping (Python, Node.js, n8n, or similar) Excel/CSV automation API integration (Claude, OpenAI, or equivalent) Supabase & Sanity API familiarity (basic) Image processing

Hi, I can help with building a repeatable pipeline that loads your e-commerce product catalog from Excel into Supabase and exports ready-to-import content/images for Sanity. I’ll start by mapping your required Excel columns, CMS fields, and image/spec sources, then build the workflow in small milestones: scraper + image processing, AI description generation, and finally the automated Supabase→Sanity export. To reduce risk, I’ll keep everything documented and user-run (no manual re-entry) with validation logs and sample exports for your review. Which websites/PDFs and fields should the scraper target first, and do you already have your Sanity dataset/project and collection IDs set up?

Hi, This fits very well with my experience because I’ve worked on AI-assisted workflows, automation systems, scraping pipelines, Supabase architectures, CMS integrations, and scalable data-processing systems. I really like the workflow direction: Excel → Supabase → Sanity → Website because it keeps the content pipeline structured and scalable while still staying simple enough for non-technical teams to manage later. I can help with: master Excel/catalog structure scraping pipelines image collection + compression workflows AI-generated descriptions/SEO content Supabase sync architecture Sanity export automation reusable/documented scripts low-code operational workflows I also focus heavily on: simple maintainable systems automation reliability clean data normalization scalable content structures non-technical usability For this type of system, I’d probably recommend: Python/Node scraping workflows AI generation pipelines Supabase as centralized structured storage automated export formatting for Sanity lightweight admin/monitoring workflows I also understand the important part here: the final system must be easy for your internal team to operate independently without developer dependency later. Happy to discuss catalog size, scraping targets, and rollout phases

Are your supplier/catalog sources mostly structured ecommerce pages, or inconsistent PDFs/images/manufacturer catalogs? Asking because scraping + AI normalization flow changes a lot based on source consistency. Your workflow is actually smart: Excel → Supabase → Sanity → Website Usually the hard part isn’t scraping itself, it’s building reusable normalization pipelines so new catalogs can be added later without rebuilding everything again. I can help with: 1. master Excel/CSV setup 2. product/spec normalization 3. image scraping + compression 4. AI-generated SEO/product descriptions 5. Supabase integration 6. Sanity-ready export formatting 7. reusable scraping scripts 8. automated product pipelines 9. low-code/no-code friendly workflows 10. simple documentation for independent operation Bhupesh

Hi, Building a product catalog database that stays accurate while automating imports, updates, and syncs across channels is exactly the kind of foundational work that determines whether an e-commerce operation scales or collapses under its own weight — and the details of how it's structured matter enormously upfront. For this kind of system I'd use PostgreSQL with a normalized schema separating SKUs, variants, and attribute sets, paired with a Python ETL layer using SQLAlchemy for ORM and Celery for async task scheduling. If there's a Shopify or WooCommerce integration involved, I'd use their REST APIs with webhook listeners to keep the catalog in sync rather than polling — which cuts unnecessary API calls and keeps inventory state consistent in near real-time. For bulk imports, a Pandas-based pipeline handles CSV/Excel ingestion with validation and conflict resolution before anything hits the database. Before writing a line of code: can you share the platform you're integrating with and a rough SKU count? That determines whether a single-DB setup covers you or whether a caching layer like Redis makes sense for read-heavy catalog queries. That answer shapes the architecture significantly. Best regards, Val

Hi, this is a strong fit for my automation and spreadsheet workflow experience. I can help build the product master Excel structure, prepare clean CSV/database-ready exports, and set up a repeatable process for product specs, images, and SEO fields. My approach would be to start with a small sample catalog first: define the column structure, normalize a few products, confirm the Supabase/Sanity export format, and then scale the workflow once the sample is approved. This keeps the automation practical and easy to verify. Please send the current product sources, target CMS field requirements, and a sample product category. I can map the workflow and start with the first sample batch.
