Arduino Data Collection and Pixhawk Integration for Flight Mode Control Project Overview: We are looking for a skilled freelancer to assist in integrating data from an Arduino to a Pixhawk (Orange Cube) flight controller and use that data to trigger specific flight modes in Mission Planner (GCS software). The project involves collecting string data from the Arduino, transmitting it to the Pixhawk, and processing the data on the ground control station (Mission Planner). Based on this data, a threshold value should be set that, when exceeded, changes the flight mode to Return-to-Launch (RTL). Key Requirements: 1. Data Collection from Arduino: - Develop a method to collect string data from an Arduino microcontroller. - Ensure the data is transmitted in real-time to the Pixhawk (Orange Cube). 2. Data Relay to Pixhawk (Orange Cube): - The Arduino data should be sent via a suitable serial communication protocol (e.g., UART, I2C,CAN, or MAVLink) to the Pixhawk. - Ensure the Pixhawk receives and processes the string data reliably. 3. Data Transmission to Mission Planner: - Relay the received data from the Pixhawk to Mission Planner (Ground Control Station software). - This can be done using MAVLink protocol, ensuring that the data is transmitted as custom parameters or telemetry data. 4. Threshold Value and Flight Mode Control: - Set up logic on the Mission Planner side to monitor the received data. - Configure a threshold value for the data that, when exceeded, triggers the flight mode change to Return-to-Launch (RTL). - Ensure that the flight mode change to RTL happens seamlessly when the threshold condition is met. Additional Requirements: - Strong experience with Pixhawk (Orange Cube) and Mission Planner. - Familiarity with MAVLink protocol and serial communication with embedded systems. - Proven experience working with Arduino and integrating it with flight controllers. - Ability to work with flight mode controls within Mission Planner. - Documentation of the entire process, including any setup requirements and code implementation. Deliverables: 1. Fully functional Arduino code to collect and send string data. 2. Code/firmware to handle data transmission and reception on the Pixhawk. 3. Configuration for data relay to Mission Planner. 4. Logic for triggering the RTL flight mode based on a threshold value. 5. A detailed report or documentation outlining the steps to set up and test the system. Estimated Project Timeline: - 7-10 days. Budget: INR 5K to 12K If you're experienced with Pixhawk integration, Arduino development, and flight control systems, we'd love to hear from you. Please include relevant project samples or details about your experience with similar projects. Looking forward to your applications!

With over 10 years of experience in software development, including 3 years in leading defense-related embedded systems projects, I bring both deep technical expertise and practical field knowledge. Although I currently focus on Inertial Navigation Systems (INS) as part of my ongoing Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, my academic foundation began with a B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering and M.Sc. in Computer Engineering — enabling me to bridge the gap between hardware and software effortlessly. Why I’m a strong fit for this project: Arduino Development: Experienced in low-level C/C++ coding, sensor integration, and real-time data streaming. Pixhawk & MAVLink Expertise: Familiar with serial communication protocols (UART, I2C) and have worked on MAVLink message customization and parameter telemetry. Mission Planner Customization: I can implement custom telemetry handling, parameter monitoring, and autonomous mode switching (e.g., RTL) with real-time logic. Flight Mode Automation: I can help implement a robust system where incoming data triggers mode change based on configurable thresholds. Complete Documentation: I provide clean code for easy handover. Deliverables: Arduino code for collecting and transmitting data. Pixhawk firmware/config for receiving and relaying data. Integration with Mission Planner via MAVLink telemetry. Logic for RTL mode trigger upon threshold breach. Full documentation (code + setup instructions).

Proposal: Arduino Data Collection and Pixhawk Integration Overview I propose to integrate an Arduino with a Pixhawk Orange Cube to collect string data, transmit it to Mission Planner via MAVLink, and trigger Return-to-Launch (RTL) mode when a threshold is exceeded. With expertise in Arduino, Pixhawk, and Mission Planner, I’ll deliver a reliable solution in 8 days for INR 10K. Approach 1. **Arduino Data Collection**: Code Arduino to collect string data (e.g., "VALUE=25") and send it via MAVLink over UART to Pixhawk TELEM2. 2. **Pixhawk Relay**: Configure Pixhawk (SERIAL2_PROTOCOL=2, SERIAL2_BAUD=57) to receive and forward data via TELEM1 telemetry. 3. **Mission Planner**: Use telemetry radio to relay data; display in Flight Data tab. 4. **RTL Trigger**: Write a Python script in Mission Planner to parse data, set a threshold (e.g., 30), and switch to RTL when exceeded. Deliverables - Arduino code for data collection and transmission. - Pixhawk configuration for MAVLink. - Mission Planner telemetry setup and RTL script. - Documentation with setup and test steps. Timeline - Days 1-2: Arduino code. - Days 3-4: Pixhawk setup. - Days 5-6: Telemetry and script. - Days 7-8: Testing and docs. INR 10K (within 5K-12K). Proven work with Pixhawk, Arduino, and MAVLink for UAV telemetry and control.
