The Dutchman is not an out-of-the-ordinary internet magazine in search of out-of-the-ordinary writers. We are looking for articles and short stories that are completely original, and drawn from the writer's own experiences and interests. This means that if you have to ask us for a list of topics to pick and choose from in order to write something, we are not the magazine for you.
Any writers interested in bidding on the project should set their bid at 30$ USD in 30 days. Those writers whose bids we accept will be asked to submit either two works of 1000+ words (2 articles @ 15$ USD), or 3 shorter works (not shorter than 500 words unless otherwise agreed - 3 articles @ 10$ USD). All writers, regardless of how experienced, or inexperienced, they are must fulfill the same requirement as it is necessary in order for us to evaluate your future potential as an occasional writer with the Dutchman.
At the moment we are looking for articles about things that are close to your hearts. Articles with a strong local flavor are also very welcome (thanks to one of our past contributors who changed our whole perspective on that).
We are currently only looking for a few additional writers who would be interested in contributing articles and/or short stories on a periodic basis. Content providers are not welcome. All work submitted must be written by the person submitting it. Please attach a sample of your writing along with your bid. Writers who have previously bid on one of our projects, but were not accepted at the time are free to place new bids. Those whom we specifically invite to this round of bidding are of particular interest to us (we will explain why when/if you bid) and we sincerely hope that you will accept our invitation to join in the bidding.
