I have a dating website (personal). Im having a problem with people signing up with fake profiles with the full intention to email members and try to scam them out of money. All of the sent messages are saved in a same database with the member ID. Is there a way to detect duplicate messages sent by the same person within a certain amount of time to indicate spam. Is there scipt that can be setup to do this?
Also, one i delete the spammers I block their IP address. Although i am unaware whether they have signed up with a diffent IP address. Is there a way to block anonymous and open proxies to stop these people from changing IP addresses. I think in order to use anonymous proxies they have to disable java script. Is there a script i can put on my site that requires all users to have java on.
Is there anyone with experience with this type of problem and spammer issues with a dating website? I was also thinking of using what "[url removed, login to view]" uses..the "red flag" system. Where if people "red flag" a member 3 times then they are blocked from the site.
What would be the best way to go about increasing the security on my dating personals website?
