I'm migrating from a Linux to a Windows server and need to have a form currently written with Perl functions rewritten in ASP.NET 2.0. I'm expecting to keep all of the current features and functionality. Please let me know if any of the listed functions are not possible before bidding on the project. A copy of the form is located at [login to view URL]
Features I need to keep include:
When the form is submitted the user needs to be redirected to a confirmation page which provides a copy of the created form.
If 1 - expedited page rate is selected in the Priority field then set the email status to High, otherwise it should default to Normal
The subject line of the email needs to be Witness: -witness value from form goes here- - Reporter: -reporter value from form goes here-
A copy of the form with links to the attachments is emailed to designated person and cc'd to -reporter email value from form-
The saved html form has a confirmation box of the email recipients with a hyperlink to the html created form
Have cookies created for reporter name and reporter email fields
The saved html form has an internal use only box
Form needs to be secure (i.e. can't be saved and run locally)
Something will need to be done to ensure that uploaded files hyperlinks work properly. One of the following will need to be done. I would prefer option 1 below.
1 - Uploaded file names are changed to reflect the witness name value from the form and the file type expected in that field. Preserve the file type of course (i.e doc, xls, etc.). For example say a person has put John Smith in the witness field and attaches a file in the ASCII field. I would need to have the uploaded and linked file name to be JohnSmithASCII. If there was a Transcript Order Form it would be named JohnSmithTranscriptOrderForm. As you can see it will also need to strip out any spaces or special characters (i.e non alpha numeric characters) to prevent file hyperlinking problems.
2 - Uploaded files names need to have the spaces and special characters (i.e. non alpha numeric characters) stripped out to ensure the attachments can be accessed easily from form. (i.e. jones&[login to view URL] would become [login to view URL]). In this situation the file names are renamed at all they are only cleaned up.
Something will need to be done to ensure that if a file is uploaded with the same name it will be append with a number. For example, say a person just happens to do two jobs with the same witness and fills out two forms for John Smith. The first form should create a linked ASCII file to the form named JohnSmithASCII and the second form would create a file named JohnSmithASCII1
New Features I want to gain:
Form values are sent to and stored into a Microsoft sql database.
Can we not only the values but the actual created form saved into the sql database by job id (which will be the primary key for all the form data) also?
The date and time on the form needs to changed from Javascript which gets the time from the form users computers clock to a time from the server. Please subtract an hour since the server is in a different time zone.
