Well I'm quoting the post below because I got here by google a can't be specific enough as the person who has posted the project below , but what I need is a counter system that works via any usb webcam . My goal is to count how many people has entered my store. I already have a system that works with infrared but it malfunctions very easily + the company who sells those charge an unreasonable amount for services.
Our stores have windows xp machines . I would like to know how many people enter the store at any given time so counting could be monitored on real time . The camera choice is up to the bidder but it should be cheap and should be available in turkey.
My idea is to plant the cameras on the entrance and on the ceiling of the store and make it look down. but of course I'm open to suggestions.
I'm guessing counting unique people is not possible .
Silverlight application that can count people that walk by a webcam or a Microsoft Kinect device. We will reimburse the Kinect device and any other required hardware once the project is completed. Check out my reputation on Freelancer and you will see that we honor all of our commitments.
Ideally, the system will put a weight on each count so that we know:
- how many people the system counted with high certainty (meaning we are very sure that we counted a person)
- how many people the system counted with low certainty (meaning that we are pretty sure that it was a person, but it might have been something else ... or just one really big person)
