I need a production-ready AUv3 that puts Retrieval-based Voice Conversion (RVC) directly inside Logic Pro and any other AUv3 host on both macOS and iOS. Real-time voice conversion is essential, so latency must stay low enough for live tracking and monitoring at 48 kHz. Alongside that, I want the same engine to handle batch processing of audio files—for example, dragging a folder of takes onto the plug-in window and letting it render them offline. Voice models should be fully customizable: the plug-in must ship with a small library of pre-defined voices yet also allow users to load—or even train—their own RVC models without leaving the session. A simple browser for selecting, tagging, and updating models would be ideal. Deliverables • Signed, notarised AUv3 binary that runs natively on Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, plus a universal build for iOS/iPadOS hosts such as GarageBand. • Xcode project with clear build instructions so I can compile future versions myself. • UI/UX that exposes real-time / batch modes, model management, and basic mix controls (wet/dry, formant shift, gain). • Documentation covering installation, parameter automation in Logic Pro, and the steps required for users to import or train additional models. Once the plug-in loads in Logic Pro and performs reliable, low-latency conversion using both the included and user-supplied voices, the job is complete.

Real-time RVC inside AUv3 is primarily a latency and model-inference problem, especially with the same engine expected to run natively on both macOS and iOS. I’d keep the DSP layer separate from the AUv3 wrapper, optimise the inference path for 48 kHz live monitoring, and expose batch rendering through the same engine so real-time and offline results stay consistent. Model loading and management should also be isolated so user-supplied RVC models don’t complicate the audio-processing path. Do you already have an RVC inference implementation that needs to be ported, or is the conversion engine itself part of this build?

Hi, I am Ryan from San Francisco. Worth flagging honestly upfront: real-time RVC conversion on desktop GPU currently runs about 90-170ms best case, not the near-zero latency musicians expect for live tracking. That's workable for monitoring while overdubbing, but it will feel laggy on tight rhythmic parts. Better to build to that honestly than promise "low latency" and have it feel wrong in the room. The bigger fork is the audio thread itself: Core Audio's render callback can't run a neural net inline, so the RVC pipeline has to run on a separate thread with a small lookahead buffer, and that buffer is what sets your real latency floor, not just model speed. On-device training inside the plugin isn't realistic, especially on iOS. Training on the Mac (Metal/Neural Engine) then loading the result into the plugin is the workable version of that feature. Quick question: should I start with a macOS-only proof of concept, one voice model, real-time engine working inside Logic, before committing to iOS, batch mode, and training tools? That gives us the real latency/quality number before the rest gets built. At $50 AUD/hr: proof of concept runs roughly 40-50 hours, 1-2 weeks. Happy to scope the full build once that's proven. Best, Ryan

Hi, Embedding a retrieval-based voice conversion engine directly into AUv3 plugins for both macOS and iOS hosts is a demanding task that requires careful balancing of low-latency audio processing and flexible model management. The main technical risk is maintaining reliable, real-time conversion at 48 kHz with seamless switching between live and batch processing modes. I have led development on a macOS-native real-time audio translation plugin that integrated tightly with live audio environments and managed low-latency streaming pipelines. This experience directly informs handling real-time voice conversion with hybrid AI models inside a native plugin. I typically design such systems by separating the real-time audio processing path from model management and training workflows, ensuring that live audio paths remain uninterrupted while allowing asynchronous model updates. Early validation would focus on audio buffer handling and CPU load balancing across Apple Silicon and Intel hardware. To ensure production readiness, I recommend implementing monitoring and fallback strategies to maintain conversion quality and latency targets under varying load conditions, which reduces risk of audio glitches or session interruptions. I can start by outlining the plugin’s audio processing architecture and model integration flow to align on key technical tradeoffs. Thanks, Clifton

Building a low-latency AUv3 with both real-time and batch RVC voice conversion is a solid challenge, but one I’ve tackled in similar audio plugin projects with demanding live-use cases. Keeping latency under 10 ms at 48 kHz in AUv3 often means careful optimization around audio callback threads and efficient buffer handling—are you targeting a max latency budget for the live mode? Your requirement to load, manage, and even train RVC models inside the plugin while maintaining a simple UI is smart and user-friendly. In past projects, I integrated external ML models with custom file browsers so users could seamlessly swap models without restarting Logic or the host app. For training inside the session, would you prefer lightweight on-device fine-tuning or just loading fully pre-trained models? I can deliver a signed and notarized universal macOS/iOS AUv3 binary with clear build instructions for future updates. The UI will expose all modes and controls clearly, plus automation support and thorough documentation for power users importing or training models. Let’s get this AUv3 running reliably with rock-solid real-time conversion so you can start using it in sessions fast. Ready to dive in and start the build.

Hi. This is a good fit because AUv3 RVC Voice Converter is usually less about simple audio routing and more about optimizing buffer management and real-time inference pipelines so existing host automation and sample rates continue working. I have experience with Objective C, iOS Development, Audio Processing, and Audio Engineering. The main technical issue in AUv3 plugin development is that managing memory overhead during high-fidelity inference creates a significant bottleneck, which can cause audio dropouts or unacceptable latency during live tracking and monitoring sessions. I would solve this by implementing a custom circular buffer for low-latency streaming, integrating the RVC inference engine within a dedicated background thread to prevent UI blocking, and setting up a robust file-based model loader that handles both real-time processing and batch rendering tasks. I can also configure the model management system, user-defined parameter automation, and necessary sandboxing permissions so the system works fully after completion across both macOS and iOS host environments. The goal is to make the system run exactly like a native Apple Silicon plug-in and ensure everything is tested and stable. And I can help you so on. Thanks.

Hi there, Fernando from Mexico. I want to build the AUv3 around a shared RVC inference engine that can run both low latency real time conversion and offline batch rendering across macOS, iOS, and iPadOS. I’d separate the AUv3 audio layer from RVC inference, model loading, and parameter control, using native Apple audio processing and optimized inference paths for Apple Silicon and Intel. The real time path would prioritize predictable latency at 48 kHz, while batch processing can use a separate offline path without affecting live monitoring. Model management would support bundled and user imported models, with wet/dry, formant shift, gain, automation, and session safe state handling exposed to Logic Pro. I’d also keep model training separate from the real time plugin process so training cannot disrupt an active session. My first step would be a signed development AUv3 that loads in Logic Pro, processes live microphone audio through one RVC model, and exposes the core mix controls so latency and host compatibility can be measured before expanding model management and batch rendering. Bests Fernando

Hello, I hope your week is going well. I've built low-latency audio for Apple platforms, including AUv3 work on macOS and iOS, so the real-time RVC engine here is a familiar kind of challenge. On a previous plug-in, an AUv3 vocoder for Logic, I kept round-trip latency inside a 48 kHz session by running the DSP in a lock-free ring buffer between the render callback and a background inference thread. That same split between real-time and offline paths is what this project needs: one shared engine, two modes. My usual starting point is an Audio Unit Extension target in Xcode with the DSP core as a separate C++ layer, then wiring the model loader and a wet/dry, formant, and gain strip on top. The batch renderer can reuse the same graph offline, so you're not maintaining two codecs. Would be good to align on the model format and how training fits the session before I lock the architecture. Could we hop on a short call to sort that, and the Logic automation side, out? Thank you, Jasjot
