We are a custom architectural millwork shop, specializing in interior and exterior doors. We run both 3 and 5 axis CNC's, mainly for machining the pockets for door hardware. We want to streamline our process of putting the tool paths onto the doors each time. We use Inventor 2020 professional with the Inventor HSM plugin. What we are trying to accomplish is to develop a method for storing many different pieces of hardware in one library, and be able to drop them into our models/drawings through a spreadsheet or similar. We currently use a spreadsheet that drives our drawings, and would like to add this feature to that process if possible. The CAM should follow along with each piece of hardware in the library, and we can add a reference point or similar if needed. We have the ability to model the pockets for the hardware, and put the tool paths onto each of those. If there are any questions please let me know.
