I need a substation gateway configured so it can issue real-time set-points for both voltage and power-factor on a fleet of SMA PV inverters. All messaging must follow the NIE-SSG SCADA technical guidelines and be carried over Modbus (TCP preferred, RTU acceptable if justified). The task is purely about control: the gateway has to accept the grid operator’s Volt/Var and PF commands, translate them into the exact SMA register map, push them to each inverter, and confirm execution with the correct feedback flags. My expectation is a turnkey configuration package that I can load into the existing gateway (Linux-based, supports DNP3 and Modbus out of the box). It should include: • Gateway configuration files or scripts • Register map and scaling document aligned with NIE-SSG requirements • A brief commissioning guide and a remote test session proving dynamic voltage and PF response Only freelancers who can point to hands-on experience doing similar Modbus control of SMA or equivalent inverters should apply—I will be looking at that first.

Hello, I understand you need a Linux-based substation gateway setup that can receive Volt/Var and PF commands from the grid operator, convert them into the correct SMA Modbus register writes, send live set-points to the inverter fleet, and return the right status/feedback flags as per NIE-SSG SCADA rules. I can prepare the gateway config/scripts, SMA register and scaling sheet, and a clear commissioning guide, then support a remote test to prove voltage and PF response. I have worked with Modbus TCP/RTU control, inverter register mapping, Linux gateway setup, and technical documentation for site commissioning, so I can keep this focused on real control behavior, not just monitoring. Which exact SMA inverter models and firmware versions are on site, and do you already have the SMA Modbus register documentation for them? Can you share the NIE-SSG SCADA points list or control/feedback flag requirements you need followed? What is the existing gateway make/model, and does it support custom scripts or only vendor config files? Will the remote test be done against live inverters, a simulator, or a staged test setup? Best regards,

Dear Client, The biggest risk in this project is not sending Modbus commands to SMA inverters. It is ensuring that real-time voltage and power-factor set-points are translated correctly, executed reliably across the inverter fleet, and fully compliant with NIE-SSG SCADA communication requirements under live operating conditions. That is where practical industrial control and inverter integration experience matters. I would approach this by: 1. reviewing the NIE-SSG technical requirements, SMA inverter register maps, and existing gateway capabilities to identify communication constraints, scaling requirements, command timing, and feedback validation needs 2. configuring the Modbus control architecture, including real-time set-point translation, inverter addressing, status verification, scaling logic, and fault handling for stable field operation 3. preparing a turnkey deployment package including gateway configuration files, register mapping documentation, commissioning procedures, and remote validation/testing support One key question: Do you already have the SMA inverter models and NIE-SSG mapping documents available, or should those be verified during the initial phase? Message me and I’ll help build a reliable gateway control solution that operates cleanly in real-world SCADA environments and supports stable dynamic inverter control. Best regards, Prat PCB Must Innovations

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Hi, I will configure the gateway to translate grid operator Volt/Var and PF set-points into the exact SMA register map and ensure correct execution feedback , likely causes for failure are mismatched scaling (register decimal position) and timing/ack flag mapping between NIE-SSG and SMA firmware. I will implement a Modbus(TCP)-first workflow: map NIE-SSG commands to SMA registers with scaling tables, push set-points, and verify execution via inverter feedback flags and watchdog retries in a lightweight Linux daemon. I previously delivered a Modbus/TCP gateway for a 2MW PV site translating DNP3 signals to SMA inverters with verified dynamic Volt/Var response, and commissioned remote tests for an off-grid microgrid controller. I can also add automated regression tests for set-point timing. Would you like me to target Modbus TCP initially or prepare RTU fallback? Do you prefer Modbus TCP as primary and RTU only as fallback, and can I get sample NIE-SSG command traces from your operator? Best regards, Bohdan

I’ve read your Modbus gateway brief, and this is straightforward for me. I’ve delivered over a dozen similar projects where a voltage regulator needs to be monitored and controlled via Modbus RTU, and I can have a working prototype ready quickly. I handle the full cycle—firmware, a custom PCB if needed, and a simple interface to set voltage levels. The budget of 20 works for a focused scope, and I’ll keep the deliverables tight: a reliable gateway that reads voltage and allows you to adjust it from a serial terminal or a lightweight dashboard. I’ve shipped similar systems for clients in the UK before, so I understand the expectations around reliability and documentation. If you’re ready to move forward, send me the exact model of your voltage regulator and the control protocol details. I’ll get you a functional solution without any fluff.

Real-time setpoint delivery for both voltage and power factor on a Modbus gateway is timing-sensitive work. I would configure the polling cycle and register map to keep latency tight, and set up the Linux service to restart cleanly on any comms fault so the substation never loses control authority. I can start today and have this configured and tested within 3 days. The bid reflects the description as written and may adjust once we walk through the full scope. Want to jump on a quick call?

Hello, I’m Cora May, thanks for the clear Modbus Gateway Voltage & PF Control brief. I’ve configured substation-style gateways to translate Volt/Var and power-factor commands into vendor-specific inverter register maps, with real-time set-point write/feedback validation and standards-aligned messaging. For your Linux gateway (DNP3 + Modbus supported), I’ll provide a turnkey configuration package: scripts/config files, an NIE-SSG-aligned register map with scaling/units, and the control translation layer for SMA PV inverters over Modbus TCP (RTU only if it’s technically required). I’ll also include a concise commissioning guide and a remote test procedure that proves dynamic voltage and PF response, including the correct execution/feedback flags and failure-handling so the SCADA side stays deterministic. How many distinct inverter models/firmware variants are in the fleet, and do you already have the NIE-SSG point list (or should we create it from the gateway’s addressing plan)? Also, are the Volt/Var and PF commands provided as absolute set-points or percent-of-range values from the grid operator?

SMA Modbus register maps are something i've worked around on embedded energy monitoring builds, and the Linux gateway side (config files, scripting, Docker-wrapped services) is familiar ground. That said, direct NIE-SSG SCADA commissioning and live SMA inverter fleet control isn't something i've done at utility scale, so i want to be straight with you there before you read further. If the gap matters, send me the gateway model and the NIE-SSG doc and i'll tell you quickly whether the config work is within reach or not.
