Project Title DAO Governance Dataset Construction for Academic Research Project Description I am conducting academic research on Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) for my master’s thesis. The goal of the project is to construct a structured dataset that will later be used for econometric analysis on the relationship between DAO treasury structure and governance outcomes. I am looking for a freelancer with experience in crypto data, blockchain analytics, or data collection to help build this dataset. Scope of Work The freelancer will collect quarterly data for a sample of major DAOs. The dataset should include approximately 7–10 DAOs. The core DAOs that must be included are: Uniswap DAO MakerDAO Aave DAO Lido DAO Curve DAO Compound DAO Gitcoin DAO If data availability allows, additional DAOs such as Arbitrum DAO, Optimism Collective, ENS DAO, Balancer DAO, or Sushi DAO may also be included. Time Period The dataset should cover the period from 2021 to 2024 (or the maximum period available depending on data availability). The dataset must be structured at the quarterly level. Variables Required The dataset must follow the variable structure defined below. BLOCK A — Identifiers DAO_ID (DAO name) Year Quarter BLOCK B — Treasury Variables (Independent Variables) Treasury_USD Total value of the DAO treasury in USD for the given quarter. NativeToken_Share Percentage of the treasury held in the DAO’s native governance token. Stablecoin_Share Percentage of the treasury held in stablecoins. OtherCrypto_Share Percentage of the treasury held in other crypto assets. Concentration_HHI Treasury concentration index (Herfindahl–Hirschman Index) if available. BLOCK C — Governance Outcomes (Dependent Variables) Proposals_Count Total number of governance proposals in that quarter. Turnout_Avg Average voter participation in governance proposals (if available). Active_Quarter_Dummy Dummy variable equal to 1 if governance proposals occurred in that quarter. BLOCK D — Control Variables Token_Return Return of the DAO governance token during the quarter. Market_Return Return of the overall crypto market during the quarter (Bitcoin or Ethereum benchmark). Data Sources Reliable sources may include: DeepDAO Dune Analytics DefiLlama Messari Snapshot governance data DAO governance dashboards or official documentation Output Format The dataset should be delivered as an Excel or CSV file. Each row must represent one DAO observation per quarter. Example structure: DAO_ID | Year | Quarter | Treasury_USD | NativeToken_Share | Stablecoin_Share | OtherCrypto_Share | Concentration_HHI | Proposals_Count | Turnout_Avg | Active_Quarter_Dummy | Token_Return | Market_Return Sources should be provided whenever possible. Quality Check Before completing the full dataset, please send a small sample including 2–3 DAOs so I can verify the dataset structure and data quality. After confirmation, the freelancer can proceed with the full dataset. Timeline Ideally the dataset should be completed within 7–10 days after project start. Accuracy and reliable sources are very important because the dataset will be used for academic research. Because this dataset will be used for econometric analysis, the consistency of the time structure is very important. The dataset must be organized at the quarterly level for each DAO (Year and Quarter identifiers must be consistent across the dataset). If some variables are not available for specific DAOs or quarters, please clearly indicate N/A and briefly explain the reason or data limitation. Sources and Data Transparency Whenever possible, please include the source used for each variable (for example a link or platform name). This is important for academic transparency and for verifying the data. Communication Before starting the full dataset, I would like to briefly discuss the approach and confirm that the variables and data sources are understood correctly.
