We are adding on to our lake house (2nd home). We have a builder we trust and some idea of what we want, but would like some assistance with the overall flow and design of the space. The space consists of a main floor addition which is a master suite (bedroom, bath, and walk-in closet) and a complimentary basement addition below which, at a minimum would include a bathroom, storage room and at least one bedroom large enough for a King bed (there is probably room for two bedrooms or at least 1 bedroom and 1 multi-purpose space).
This is likely the home we will retire in and we want it to be welcoming for our children their future families.
Total space available is 24 x 24, but we currently have planned to exclude approx 7x7 on corner to add some interest to the back of the home. The attached images are rough sketches of prelim thoughts (ignore windows, furniture, etc. as they were just placeholders). Main floor areas in blue + the attached walk-in closet are included in the addition plus the symmetrical basement spaces (everything to the right of the existing Family/Game Room and Existing Storage Room).
