Hi, I need a redesign of HyperTerminal so that my program is more user friendly
Here is my setup right now.
I have a piece of hardware that communicated via serial to a pc.
-I open HyperTerminal
-enter a connection name
-select the COM port using the "connect using" drop down menu
- Then i set the bits per second, data bits, parity, stop bits, flow control
-then the program is set up for me to use and is connected to the hardware.
- Then i use text command such as -f, -e, -q, -p to fetch data, erase data, quit, change password etc.
and if i want to save the data to a text file i have to change setting in the HyperTerminal program.
I want this process to be simplified.
The program should be branded with my name and logo.
-When I open the program up, it should show me available ports and allow me to select the correct one.
- All the other settings should be pre-configured and will not change.
Once it is connected it should say connected and display 4 button: Fetch, Erase, Change Password, Exit
If the fetch button is pressed before performing the operation it should ask the user if he/she wishes to save the data to a file, or he can just view it within the program. If he chooses to view the data he should be allowed to save it if he changes his mind.
If he presses erase button it should ask him for a confirmation and then perform the task
If he clicks change password it should perform the task
If he presses exit it should perform the task and close down.
The program should be compatible with all version of windows.
Later on I Will need a version made for mac, linux, palm and symbian.... so if you perform this job well, you will get those jobs aswell
