I'm looking for somebody to do a bit of linux socket programming for us. Application should consist from client and server who communicate by transmitting messages (64 byte every) one way. Application should follow below requirements:
1) Transmission must be reliable. I assume you can use tcp or udp with custom confirmations. Please read all requirements carefully and advise what is the best way.
2) Messages must arrive in a specific order.
3) It must be a real-time transmission.
Client and server are connected to the same 1Gb/s Ethernet switch.
We have this application developed by other programmer. He is using udp for transmission, but some packets are lost from time to time, which is unacceptable. You can improve existion code or write your own from scratch, let me know in your bid what do you choose.
Please do not post copy-and-paste and unrealistic bids and provide some information about expeience you have in socket programming on linux.
