We are looking for a simple photo aggregator. This will be a client side win32 application that asks for your credentials for the varying services we support (friendster, facebook, ofoto, snapfish). The application will login to each of the services and screen-scrape all of the photos and store them on your PC. The application should also be smart about what has been downloaded and not download it again.
We expect the developer to have written screen-scraping utilities previously. The developer should have a good understanding how cookies work. Furthermore, the credentials should be stored on the client in a secure manner.
We encourage the developer to make use of any APIs that are available. For example, Facebook has an API at [url removed, login to view] .
Note: We can also provide the urls and a quick way to do all of the screen-scraping, as we have already written screen-scrapers for Friendster and Spaces in perl.
The application should also have a simple UI that basically shows the most recently downloaded photos, and an icon in the tasktray that notifies you when you images have been downloaded (similar to messenger notifications). There should also be ways to sort the pictures (e.g. date, social network, etc).
We have a budget of a maximum of $500. If your quote exceeds $500, please indicate what features could be cut to meet the $500 quote.
Attached is a PDF with more details about the project.
