I have a software that uses a bat file to launch an EXE file. The bat file is as follows:
[url removed, login to view] config=[url removed, login to view]
The file '[url removed, login to view]' has config settings for '[url removed, login to view]'
The batch file runs, but the exe file just flits by, without actually running.
I suspect this is a 'permissions' or 'security settings' issue. It appears with XP/2000, but only on some systems.
To complete this project, you must give me a solution to the problem that works. It must be an exe or batch file that will change the permission/security settings, or a set of clear, step-by-step instructions that will allow a non-expert to fix the issue.
You will be sent a zip file with sample batch files, the config file and the exe file.
Before you author the exe file (if that's the solution you find), you should submit your solution for testing - unless you don't mind if it has to be done again - some programmers aren't fussy about this.
This job is a very simple one for someone who knows how to fix these settings.
You comments (accompanying your bids) showing your understanding of this issue will be more important for me than anything else. Your ability to reproduce the issue will also play a role, though the crucial thing will be if your solution is chosen. If you don't want to share your thoughts with other programmers who might grab your idea and then use it to under-bid you, please feel free to send me a private message.
Don't pay attention to my choices of programming languages - they are only there because scriptlance requires me to make a choice.
I have posted projects in the past that got bids for thousands of dollars, but were completed for just a few bucks. Please be competitive in your bidding.
