I currently have firmware that reads a DS1820 temp sensor and transmits the data through RS485 when requested. Currently, the firmware pauses for 750 mS while the temp conversion occurs then responds with the current value. I'd like to modify the firmware so that it always replies with the last completed conversion and constantly be converting the next reading in between requests. The idea being that reading requests won't have to wait so long for a response. The code is done in Atmel Studio 7. I'm thinking this is a fairly simple task and can be done without needing to have the physical hardware.
