Custom Enclosure Design for IoT IsoOk Zigbee PCB (STP & KiCad Files) – 3D Printing / CNC Production. ? Project Objectives: ✔ Design a perfect enclosure based on the STEP file of the PCB and KiCad project. ✔ Optimize the STL model for reliable printing on the 3d stamp. ✔ Create a durable, well-ventilated box with cutouts for connectors and an easy-to-use closure system. ✔ Generate files for both 3D printing (STL) and CNC manufacturing (STEP/IGES). ? Available Files: ✅ STEP file of the IsoOk PCB (exact geometry with components). ✅ KiCad PCB design files (to verify dimensions and connector placement). ✅ Complete list of connectors and supported sensors. 1- Technical Requirements for the Enclosure ? The enclosure must include: ✅ Compatible with 3D printing materials (PLA, ABS, PETG, ASA, Nylon). ✅ Wall thickness of at least 1.2 mm for mechanical strength. ✅ Mounting holes for: Sensor connectors (JST, terminal block, USB-C). Power cable (12V/24V DC or USB-C). External Zigbee SMA antenna. ✅ Simple closure system (screws or snap-fit). ✅ Wall-mounting or industrial machine attachment points. ✅ Ventilation openings for heat dissipation. 2- Optimizations for 3D Printing ? To ensure a high-quality print, the STL model should be optimized as follows: ✅ Enclosure Structure ✔ Wall thickness ≥ 1.2 mm for durability. ✔ Rounded edges to reduce mechanical stress and improve durability. ✔ Assembly tolerances of 0.2 mm to avoid excessive tightness on the PCB. ✅ Support and Hole Placement ✔ Tapered screw holes to facilitate mounting and improve resistance. ✔ Internal supports to secure the PCB, leaving 0.5 mm of clearance for easy insertion. ✔ Connector cutouts for sensors and power cables, ensuring accessibility. ✅ Heat Dissipation Considerations ✔ Ventilation grids on the sides to prevent overheating. ✔ Dedicated cutout for the SMA Zigbee antenna to improve connectivity. 3 Required Deliverables from the Designer ? The designer must provide: ✔ Optimized STL file for 3D printing . ✔ STEP/IGES file for CNC production. ✔ Detailed technical drawings with precise dimensions and hole placements. ✔ Material recommendations for both 3D printing and CNC. ? Preferred CAD Software: ✅ Fusion 360, SolidWorks, FreeCAD, AutoCAD, CATIA. Timeline ⏳ Timeline: 1-2 weeks. ? Potential for long-term collaboration on future revisions and accessories. ?
